Ancient and very suggestive building tracing back to the end of the eighteenth century, situated in a peaceful and sunny location in the countryside around Modica, right in the 'core' of baroque Sicily. In its outskirts there are several important towns of art such as Noto, Scicli, Ragusa Ibla, Siracusa. A not asphalted path crosses the property and leads to the masseria (ancient farm) settled on a hillock and in an overlooking position enjoying the enchanting countryside landscape of Modica, characterized by its corn fields, carob-trees, dried stone walls and by the blue sea of Vendicari on its background. The building complex represents a typical architectural pattern of local culture and tradition, brought back to its original charm by an accurate restoration recently worked out. The exclusive country residence is made up of the ancient masseria - a nearly 350 square meters large dwelling and its adjacent tower of guard (a nearly 100 square meters) both set at the guests' disposal. A well-maintained and peculiar garden with lawn, almond-trees, citrus orchard and centuries-old olive-trees extends all around the big swimming pool with hydro massage which is surrounded by a wide solarium-terrace made out of parquet and endowed with a spacious room with toilets, showers and dressing-rooms. Particularly fascinating is the internal baglio (internal courtyard) - paved with basole (pieces of local stone) and equipped with elegant garden furniture - enclosing the secluded small swimming pool. The insides of the house still keep the traditional ceilings with visible wooden timbers and have been soberly and elegantly furnished with rustic furniture. The characteristic kitchen in brickwork has been decorated with majolica pottery of Caltagirone and has a oven baking with wood and a fireplace-barbecue. The large living room with loft (140 square meters) and big central fireplace extends between the baglio and the garden. The rooms, spacious and cosy at the same time, have wrought iron beds and coordinated fabrics.
