The whole city of Marrakech go to sleep while the last prier call from the muezzin is calling from minaret to minaret. A haunting rumour is coming from the medina. Since a thousand years Marrakech go to sleep protected by its ramparts.
From the terrace ahead of the town one can see the miracle. At the first light of the morning the miracle of colours, smells, perfume of spices, mint and jasmine smells, are coming from small path in between high walls.
Minarets, green tiles from a palace roof, palm threes going out of a patio, all are illuminated by the rising sun. At mid day, Marrakech get his breathe asphyxiated by the heat.
At dawn, like by magic Marrakech is turning red. An intense life seduce the traveller. Man, Women, donkey overcharged, running kids, salesman, craftsman, are crowding in the streets. In the middle of that, you can discover one of the Ryad, calm and quiet, with the freshness of its fountain.
This is one of the contrast of the city of Marrakech. Glowing, open, noisy, in the streets and in the souks, and close or mysterious into the houses.
The RYAD DAR KAOTAR is an old house, totally renovated by the traditional local standard, and transformed into a bed and breakfast. Situated into the heart of the Medina, close to the Bab Hilane gate, its access is easy.
This Ryad is composed by 4 bed rooms open to a patio, a big salon and a terrace facing Marrakech (600 square meters in 3 levels). From the terrace you can see the Atlas mountain range. The four bed rooms are equipped with eaters and clim, with double beds, private bath room, private toilet and dressing room.
The Dar Kaotar house is quiet big. At the street level you find the open patio, at the other floor you find a balcony, and the top of the house is a 3 level terrace.
You’ll appreciate the quietness of the house, the traditional Arab mint tea ceremony, the sun bath at the terrace, and the noise coming from the outside life.
The inside walls of the ryad are covered by antique ceramic called “Zelliges” and a red ochre wall covering paste called Tad Latke. In the middle of the patio there is the fountain which is giving the needed freshness at the house.
The rooms and salon are all decorated in typical and traditional Moroccan style.
The top terrace are surrounded by sculpted iron fence in Moresque style.
The easy access of the house, which is not common for a house situated in a medina, and a guarded parking is distant of 100 meters. The house is closed to the Bad Hilane gate and the ramparts of the city.FREE internet WIFI ACCESS.
The ryad can be rented by individuals, groups or companies for holydays, seminars, events. Rentals are available by day, weekend, weeks, or month. The whole ryad can be rented .
The prices: According to the season: Room with breakfast and tranfert airport-ryad from 70 € to 90 € per night for TWO PERSONS. From 190 € to 255 € per week-end of 3 nights and From 420 € to 570 € per week of 7 nights .The whole ryad from 250 € to 330 € per night and from 1680 € to 2280 € per week.
