In the heart of the Landes, between forests, lakes and ocean, Biscarrosse offers unique and varied landscapes. In this exceptional natural setting, you will be able to practice many sporting activities, relax but also appreciate a heritage rich in culture and flavours.
Bordered by the ocean and the lakes, Biscarrosse is one of those rare destinations where the charm acts instantly. Start by letting yourself be seduced by the historical centre of the resort and its fabulous heritage. From the castle of Montbron, built in the 16th century, to the fortified church of Saint-Martin, built in Landes stone in the 14th century, passing through the museum of Traditions, you will be conquered by these wonderful traces of the past. But Biscarrosse is also the capital of hydraviation with its famous Latécoère site from where great pioneers like Saint-Exupéry or Mermoz set off. To relive the history of the Aéropostale and transatlantic crossings, visit the Hydraviation Museum, unique in Europe.
After this historic discovery of Biscarrosse, treat yourself to a few hours of relaxation on the fine sandy beach, 15 kilometres long and lined with dunes and pine forests. Famous for its waves, the resort offers surf spots appreciated worldwide. But many other activities await you : kitesurfing, sailing, sand yacht, paddle... If you prefer fresh water, go to one of the three lakes of the resort. You will be able to practise many water sports, fish, go for a boat trip or relax in a unique setting. And if you still want to work out, go to the Kart Center or one of the city's amusement parks, hit a few tennis balls or swing on the golf course which offers two courses : an 18-hole course and a 9-hole course.
Biscarrosse is also a paradise for walkers and cyclists. With 80 kilometres of hiking trails and 50 kilometres of cycle paths, there are many possibilities for escapades. Take the opportunity to discover the maritime pine forests, to go around the lakes, to follow the ocean or to visit the surroundings. Among the must-see sites : the Dune du Pilat, the Arcachon basin, the Basque country, the Bordeaux vineyards... Back from your stroll, get your strength back by tasting all the flavours of this little corner of the Landes. On the menu: oysters, asparagus, foie gras, Chalosse beef, Tursan wines...

Biscarosse beach has the biggest, best-stocked fishmonger's where you can get a good seafood platter that's a bit honest but more affordable than at a restaurant.

We recommend the Vivier or Lagoon beach for people who wish to swim and do not surf. The north lake is great for families with young children. Don't forget the bicycle as there are plenty of bike paths. We have found a remarkable welcome in this commune.
