Eldorado of mountain lovers between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, the ski resort of Les Gets is a family destination adored by holidaymakers in summer and winter. The resort of Les Gets is part of the world's largest ski area, Les Portes du Soleil, with 12 resorts between France and Switzerland and more than 650 kilometres of slopes. But with more than 120 kilometers of slopes, the Gets ski area alone succeeds in making the whole family happy with its playgrounds adapted to beginners as well as experienced skiers. Between immense valleys where the snow is as far as the eye can see, virgin alpine pastures and snow-covered fir trees, the resort of Les Gets multiplies the breathtaking panoramas. From a practical point of view, the ski area consists of two sectors spread over two slopes : Mont Chéry, facing Mont Blanc, is adored by experienced skiers. A paradise for lovers of powder and calm, you will find here especially red and black runs as well as two slalom stadiums and a snowpark, very popular with freestyle enthusiasts and sportsmen, in particular thanks to its modules (rails, kicks, big air bag, boxes...). As for the Chavannes side, it will make everyone happy with its varied slopes, but above all families thanks to its spaces for the youngest, without forgetting its play areas ideal for learning the joys of skiing all gently, just like the "Grand Cry Territory", a sliding area dedicated to 5 / 12 years which includes courses with bumps and slaloms, all on the theme of Indians (with make-up, thematic music, entertainment, treasure hunt...). Small particularity of the resort : its Mappys area (accessible from the Chavannes cable car), a free area totally dedicated to beginners who can train safely on two conveyors and on its gentle slopes, far from the crowd. As for Nordic skiing, Les Gets offers you more than 25 kilometres of marked cross-country ski trails on the slopes of Les Chavannes and on Mont-Chéry. In addition to skiing, Les Gets offers a wide range of activities for everyone : you can take advantage of the absolutely magnificent mountain setting for paragliding, hiking, tobogganing, ice skating, joëring skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding or even snowshoeing excursions. The "Sentier du Mont-Caly" will offer you sublime views of the Mont-Blanc massif, the "Belvédère des Nauchets" will be perfectly adapted for families, just like the "Tour du Lac de la Mouille au Blé".
During the summer, when the green pastures take place in the middle of the panorama where the snow throned during the winter, the mountain is transformed into immense playground for all. Labelled Family Plus Montagne, the resort of Les Gets offers a wide range of activities for young and old: the leisure area at Lac des Ecoles is the ideal place to recharge your batteries and enjoy the beautiful weather in a superb natural setting. You can swim there, play on the inflatable games of the park "Wibit" or make the accrobranche. As far as sports are concerned, mountain biking will inevitably be on the agenda thanks to the Bikepark des Gets, Europe's largest playground for mountain bikers. In all, 128 kilometers of marked trails including 14 downhill, one freeride, 6 cross-country and many others that will certainly make you happy if you are a follower of the discipline. Hiking is also one of the main disciplines in the summer in the mountains : the "Circuit des Chèvres", the "Sentier des Myrtilles" or the "Boucle des Clarines" are trails suitable for family excursions, when the "Grand Tour des Chavannes" and its unforgettable views of Mont-Blanc and Chablais as well as the "Bois de la Turche" trails and its magnificent panoramas over the sums of the Arve Valley will be of advantage to confirmed walkers. Elegant, the Golf des Gets and its 18 holes is very popular because of its exceptional setting in the hollow of the mountains. Located on the edge of a forest on a plateau of the Chavanes ridge, it will allow you to perfect your swing while enjoying the pure mountain air. Finally, trail, running, archery and tennis complete the picture of ideal activities to test during your stay.
