Roscoff is turned towards the sea, undeniably so. A must for your holidays in Brittany, this splendid and gourmet historical city will satisfy all your desires for nature, escape and the great outdoors.
On the northern tip of Finistère, facing the magnificent Isle of Batz, Roscoff stands proudly along the sublime waters of the Bay of Morlaix. A corsair city sprinkled with sweet iodized perfumes, the elegant Roscoff, forged by years of tradition, invites you to rest for a moment. A former fishing port that became a smuggling port and then a thalassotherapy centre since the 19th century, this city of character enjoys a particularly mild climate, thanks to the Gulf Stream, ideal for strolling around with your nose in the air in the heart of its charming village. The city has four greenways and other routes that will allow you to discover its secrets on foot or by bike, in order to discover its important historical and natural heritage. The so-called "Mary Stuart" house (at 19-25 rue Réveillère, facing the sea) is to be seen, as is the church of Notre-Dame-de-Croaz-Batz (16th century) in flamboyant Gothic style; the city centre is also dotted with beautiful residences decorated with Roscoff's onion rosaries (a real local pride!) and cosy shipowners' houses, decorated facades and a watchtower, a remnant of the old ramparts that once surrounded Roscoff. A major surprise that will silence the bad tongues that talk about the Breton weather, Roscoff has an astonishing Exotic Garden: located near the car ferry port and the marina, this 16,000 square metre garden gathers more than 32,000 subtropical plant species that usually thrive in the southern hemisphere. Labelled "Remarkable Garden", this exotic site dotted with waterfalls, succulents, fountains, eucalyptus and colourful flowers also offers an incredible panoramic view of the Bay of Morlaix from its 18-metre high rock.
Faithful to the Breton tradition, the city of Roscoff is criss-crossed by a vast network of hiking trails, including the famous and unmissable GR34 which runs along the entire Breton coast from side to side. The hills of Sandy Hill and Roscoff are full of hiking trails for all tastes, with each time as a gift incomparable views of the coastline and its fine sand coves. The "Circuit des Fontaines" (8.7 kilometres), but also the Perharidy circuit (6 kilometres) or the "Entre Terre et Mer" loop (12 kilometres) will allow you to discover Roscoff in all its details. Also, take the time to stroll along the long pontoon of the Quai Parmentier: there, in the middle of the sea, a very beautiful panorama of the city and the open sea awaits you. But beware: it's blowing!
Roscoff, we come here gladly to visit, but also to relax: cradle of thalassotherapy, this seaside and spa town welcomes every year many people looking for a wellness break. A water pool with a sea view, detox or relaxing massages, scrubs, Breton seaweed wraps, shiatsu or hot stone massage, hammam, sauna, aquafitness and outdoor jacuzzi breaks will not fail to help you make the most of your stay. But in Roscoff, well-being also depends on the plate: take the time to sit down at one of the small restaurants by the sea. Fresh fish, seafood, but also (and especially!) buckwheat pancakes will immerse you in the "made-in BZH" atmosphere in no time!

Do not hesitate to spend a day on the island of Batz, very preserved despite the proximity of Roscoff (15 min crossing). It's a vegetable paradise! Not to be missed: a visit to the exotic garden and its collections of plants from the southern hemisphere... grown without a greenhouse.
