Open on the bays of Trébeurden and Morlaix, Plougasnou is one of those small towns on the Breton coast for which the favorite is immediate. With its tides, Plougasnou surprises as much as it amazes: this is the ideal destination to fill up with iodized air, absolutely superb cut landscapes, typical Breton flavours and breathtaking walks.
Rich with an immense and diversified waterfront, alternating peaks, rocks and beautiful sandy beaches, Plougasnou is both elegant and wild. A family seaside resort, it will seduce lovers of nature excursions, picturesque places and unspoilt panoramas.
To capture the beauty of this little piece of paradise, you will have to take its coastal path, also called "Sentier des Douaniers". Unveiling a whole series of islets offshore, it is the best way to discover the uniqueness of Plougasnou. It will lead you to the superb cove of Ty-Louzou, to the "Plage de Saint-Samson", offering you panoramic views of Roscoff, the island of Batz, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Plouezo'ch (where the mythical Carin de Barnenez, a proud witness of the Breton identity, is located) and Carantec.
Pointe du Diben is certainly the wildest place in the municipality: surprising and exposed to the winds, this point scattered with scattered rocks and difficult to walk on is a breathtaking place. If the place itself is a change of scenery, reminiscent of Scotland rather than a pretty little corner of France, the views from Pointe du Diben are truly magnificent. From its port, you can board a boat to the Château du Taureau (located in Carantec, a neighbouring town): constantly tormented by the waves and anchored in the heart of one of the most beautiful bays in Brittany, this 16th century building, later modified by Vauban, was first a defence building, then a prison, a residence and a sailing school. We advise you to visit it, and to take a boat tour to immortalize from the sea, a sumptuous panorama at sunset. On one of the beaches of Pointe du Diben, you will also find a diving school offering first dives and courses for all levels: a really ideal activity to do at least once during your stay! Brittany, also known as the "Land of the Sea", is rich in exceptional marine flora and fauna thanks to its fresh and salt water currents, whose underwater observation is worth a visit.
On the Pointe de Primel side, too, the stroll is worth it: dotted with many historical sites such as an old customs hut, a menhir, a chasm, but also the ruins of a chapel, medieval ruins and the "tail of the comet", this thick coastal cordon composed of pebbles is a privileged place for walking. You can also swim there, from the beaches of "Grève Primel", "Grève du camping de la Mer" and "Primel-Trégastel". The latter, composed of an immense expanse of fine sand, is ideal for family swimming sessions. For water sports, you will have to go to Pointe de Térénez: sailing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, windsurfing, sea hiking, boat trips, but also sea kayaking! Sea kayaking is a wonderful way to discover all the richness and splendour of the plouganist coast, we advise you to try it with family or friends.
Finally, a visit to Plougasnou would not be perfect without a gastronomic and gourmet getaway. On the menu? Seaweed tartar, buckwheat pancakes, Brittany oysters, shellfish, fresh fish, kig ha farz, Plougastel strawberries and Roscoff onions will undoubtedly be a must for all good restaurants.

At 1h30 drive : Brest and Océanopolis. Otherwise, close by, the Bay of Morlaix with its magnificent beaches and still 1h drive away, the Pink Granite Coast: breathtaking walks.

Very good creperie in Plougasnou: "Mademoiselle Breizh". Small brewery in Carantec, in front of the pier for a visit to the Château du Taureau: "Le Raft" (very beautiful pizzas, very good meat... very well served). From the point of view of the visit, the whole coast is very beautiful... wild landscape. Beautiful beaches (Trégastel...) where children can have fun even if they can't swim (cold water in April). The Cairn de Barnenez organizes activities on Tuesdays for children (free for children and reasonable prices 6€/adult). Visit of the Château du Taureau: the children in Fort Boyard have planned well.
