Many of these masterpieces of the early 20th century come from the architect Puig i Cafaldach, a native of Mataró. The city proudly pays tribute to this artistic heritage at Nau Gaudí, one of the first works of the artist of the same name, which now houses the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Day and night, the dynamism of the coast never stops. It is famous for its numerous music festivals which take place between May and November in all the municipalities of Maresme. Whether you're more rock or classical, no worries, there's something for everyone ! Notable among them are the Sant Pol de Mar Jazz Festival, which has attracted fans of the genre for over 40 years. There is also the Calella Screamin Festival, which celebrates the good old rock'n'roll of the 1950s ! The music is not the only attraction because the festival-goers themselves lend themselves to the game and come dressed in the style of the time. Finally, the Santa Florentina Classical Music Festival has been held for more than 15 years in the grand setting of the Can Jalpí castle in Arenys de Munt.
