Halfway between Mulhouse and Montbéliard, a stone's throw from the border with Switzerland, Mooslargue is a small town in Alsace, located on the border of the Haut-Rhin department. Renowned for its calm and the beauty of its landscapes, Mooslargue is the ideal place to settle down for a stay to discover the splendours of Alsace.
Watered by the Largue and Grumbach rivers, Mooslargue shelters some interesting sites to visit, such as its school dating from 1936 and its church from 1848. Feel free to push the door of the latter to discover its 15th century statues (notably of Saint-Blaise) and its baroque virgin. Perched at an altitude of 420 metres at the foot of the Jura, the commune is known for its beautiful state forest where Mooslarguais and Mouslarguaises like to stroll during country walks, but also known for its "zero kilometer": during the First World War, and more precisely during the Battle of Alsace in August 1914, the zero kilometer located at the border of Moos (former name of Mooslargue) symbolized the Western Front Line, which stretched over 750 kilometres. It is also the starting point for many hiking routes, such as the "Kilometre Zero Trail - World War I", which will allow you to discover the trails of the Great War over nearly 8 kilometres. Lake Luetzelweiher is also ideal for family walks, when the golf course of La Largue and its 18 holes in the heart of a magnificent course will seduce fans of the greens.
On the edge of the Alsatian lands, in the Upper Sundgau, the city of Mooslargue enjoys an ideal location to discover preserved and welcoming territories. The Sundgau is also very suitable for hiking, cycling and motorized excursions. This region is famous for its beautiful half-timbered houses beautifully preserved on the banks of the river, its medieval atmosphere (especially during the medieval festival of Ferrette), but also for its many lakes full of fish, which give a special charm to the villages of Sundgau. Ferrette, its Grotte des Nains and its castle are worth a look, as are Riespach, Ballersdorf and Hirtzbach for their splendid traditional residences. Don't leave without tasting the local pride: fried carp! The latter even has a tourist route in its name, to allow visitors to discover some of the most beautiful corners of Sundgau. If there is another itinerary that conquers the heart of the gourmands, it is the famous Alsatian Wine Route: known for its exceptional sites and beautiful routes easily accessible to cyclists, it links 70 wine villages over 170 kilometres.
Take advantage of your stay in Mooslargue to visit the city of Mulhouse 45 kilometres away, but also Basel, on the Swiss German side, only 35 kilometres away. Renowned for its medieval city centre with its rich architecture, but also for its museums, its lifestyle and its contemporary buildings, this multifaceted city will be the ideal place for a romantic getaway.
Finally, let yourself be tempted by the richness and diversity of Alsatian gastronomy: while in Mooslargue, taste pretzels, traditional sauerkraut, asparagus, baeckeoffe, Riesling rooster, onion pie, wines, gingerbread, spätzle, flambé pies and other sweet or salty kougelhopfs.

The Alsace Ecomuseum in Ungersheim is worth a visit and for car lovers: the museum in Mulhouse (Cité de l'Automobile). The super nice old Colmar and the discovery of Strasbourg by nice boat, and finally a small family restaurant in Seppois le Bas "Le Cerf".

I particularly recommend a visit to Lucelle: a guided tour with a little history and a walking tour around the pond, which can be extended to the heights. The castle of Ferrette and the cave of the dwarves, in Ferrette, also deserve a walk.

To recommend: the fried carp (a local speciality) is excellent (at the restaurant "A La Couronne" in Carspach) and the ecomuseum of Alsace is a marvel.
