In the heart of the Ossau valley, in the former province of Béarn, Gourette invites you to spend a holiday under the sign of nature. Summer and winter alike, you will enjoy a grandiose environment to move, visit and discover all the flavours of the Pyrenees.
In the majestic setting of a circus, Gourette is one of the most beautiful ski resorts in the Pyrenees whose south-facing domain extends over more than 100 hectares. In front of the mythical Col d'Aubisque, skiers and snowboarders will be able to set off on the 35 kilometres of slopes which offer a difference in altitude of more than 1000 metres. Beginners will be delighted to enjoy a 14 hectare area entirely dedicated to learning, Happy Place, and the most intrepid (and experienced !) can practice freestyle in the snowpark or railpark. For those who prefer to take the time to admire the panorama, they can take the trails reserved for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Great playground in winter, Gourrette offers no less activities in summer. Once the pastures have covered their green carpets, the resort becomes a favourite holiday destination for hikers and cyclists. The first can take the famous GR 10, which crosses the Pyrenees from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, to discover the surrounding peaks and high lakes such as Anglas. The latter will be able to attack the Col d'Aubisque or go down, by mountain bike, some slopes of the ski resort specially equipped for enduro. But you can practice many other sports such as climbing, via ferrata, canyoning, trail, tennis, squash...
Take also advantage of your holidays in Gourette to discover the surroundings. In the Ossau valley, visit the beautiful village of Eaux-Bonnes. Famous for its waters, this spa town enjoyed great prosperity in the 19th century and many villas and hotels still bear witness to this golden age. Less than 50 kilometres away, also go to Lourdes to admire one of the high places of Catholic pilgrimage, its famous cave and its beautiful Notre-Dame du Rosaire basilica. And don't forget to taste the specialities of this pretty corner of Béarn : garbure, omelette with morels, trout from the river gave, confits, tomme des Pyrénées, Ossau-Iraty, pastis, croustade...

Numerous hikes. Gourette is a quiet station with sheep in the pasture which is missing at other stations where there are no more animals. Sale of cheese.

Go to the restaurant "Schusss" and "La Bergerie": it's too good and nice as well as "Le Valentin" who accepted one evening to receive us because there were 8 of us and no place free elsewhere.
