Located near Chambéry, in Savoie, Aix-les-Bains is one of the most romantic cities in France. Placed on the shores of Lake Bourget, the largest lake of glacial origin of the country, this destination is very appreciated by the curists. Thermalism resembles a form of religion in the region, as it is present in every aspect of everyday life. The thermal baths of Marlioz are set in the heart of a park where nature is omnipresent. Dating from 1850, it is a place where one likes to take rest and to recharge oneself.
Each building in downtown Aix-les-Bains seems to pay tribute to the Belle Epoque. From the Grand-Hotel to the Bernascon residence, from the Mirabeau to the Royal, from the Excelsior to the Splendide : the facades of old palaces and private mansions can be admired in all circumstances. The architectural heritage also has some jewels of the Middle Ages. Thus the abbey of Hautecombe, which overlooks the lake since the 12th century, or the old feudal castle, built in the 16th century in the purest Gothic style. The Casino Grand Cercle, built in 1847, is home to fabulous mosaic-covered ceilings, a theater and stained glass windows of unparalleled splendor.
Encircled by the mountains, the town is a gateway to alpine pastures, beech or spruce forests, marshes and green hills. A hike in the vicinity of Aix-les-Bains will give you the opportunity to admire the Mont Blanc, the Ecrins massif and the Natural Park of the Bauges. No less than 140 km of marked mountain bike trails crisscross this natural setting. Those who prefer the air way will not be left out, as this tourist center has many paragliding and hang-gliding clubs.
In winter, cross-country skiing is more common than alpine skiing. A walk in ski or snowshoes is worth the detour. Moreover, the lookout point of Mount Revard and that of Chambotte are among the most popular itineraries of tourists !

From August 4th to 6th, it's the World Music Festival! And for the 3rd edition of this long-awaited festival, holidaymakers passing through Aix-les-Bains will be able to come and sway in the company of well-known dancers and DJs! Between Latino concerts and Latin dance classes (batchata, kizomba, salsa...), a total of 45 hours of workshops divided into 3 levels of practice are waiting for you at the Casino Grand Cercle.
