Authentic mountain village located less than an hour from Chambéry, Albiez Montrond is a perfect destination for family stays, whether you are a mountain enthusiast in summer or winter. In the heart of the mountains of the Maurienne valley, this small haven of peace guarantees its visitors sporting and resourcing moments in an absolutely magnificent setting.
Albiez-Montrond was born from the fusion of several villages and is located on a sunny plateau at the foot of the Aiguilles d'Arves. With its exceptional panoramas, the resort is adored by families and lovers of wide open spaces, envious to spend a quiet holiday. A renowned winter sports resort in the Avran-Villards massif, it offers ski enthusiasts an immense playground to devote themselves to their favourite activities. With 35 kilometres of slopes situated between 1500 and 2100 metres above sea level and spread over 67 hectares, the ski area of Albiez-Montrond will suit both beginners and experienced skiers thanks to its hilly slopes and its more marked reliefs. Beginners can also take advantage of two lifts dedicated to them : the Cuckoo Ski Lift and the Replat Carpet. At the bottom of the village, two trails (Vernette and Grand Loup) will also be accessible to them in order to initiate themselves to the pleasures of skiing in complete tranquility. Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the slopes served by the Teppes chairlift or the Crêt de l'Âne ski lift, such as the Pras Radet red slope, the Plan Corbé, or the Dôme and Pierre Aigüe black slopes, which are loved by skiers. Don't panic if alpine skiing is not your cup of tea : the resort of Albiez-Montrond has three sectors and more than 20 kilometres of slopes for skating, snowshoeing, hiking, dog sledding, cross-country skiing and cross-country skiing. Numerous hiking routes will be accessible to you during your stay : from Place Opinel, a fun hiking trail will allow you to discover the life of the mountain with your family by discovering its fauna. Like Sherlock Holmes with snowshoes, you will follow in the footsteps of deer, chamois, deer, wolves, lynxes and raptors that inhabit the mountain. Another hike accessible to all will take you on snowshoes to an alpine chalet perched at an altitude of 2100 metres : once you arrive at the right port, you can enjoy a delicious Savoyard fondue accompanied by mulled wine, all to the sound of the crackling of the wood fire lit for the occasion. In addition to its undeniable gastronomic interest, this excursion will allow you to contemplate some of the most beautiful panoramas that the Aiguilles d'Arves have to offer. You can also take advantage of your stay to learn snowboarding at the Albiez snowpark (Echaux chairlift), and take a tour of the "Fun Zone" located in the hamlet of Le Mollard (Polytre ski lift), which will allow snow-lovers to test the snow-covered modules of the resort. Once the slopes are closed, the sliding activities do not stop ! Once the skis are off, you will have to test the downhill mountain bike trails : sensations guaranteed ! Sledging on the Mollard or Albiez le Jeune trail, snowmobiling, visiting farms, yooner, Nordic bath, snowball battles, igloo building workshops, ice climbing or paragliding : perfect activities for young and old alike !
If you prefer the mountains in summer, then Albiez-Montrond will definitely conquer you. No more thick white mantle, make way for green pastures and high altitude lakes, herald walks with superb panoramas. Whether you are contemplative or sporty, a quiet walker or an experienced hiker, you will necessarily find the ideal activity to enjoy the benefits of the mountain. In addition to its many summer festivities (Celtic music festival, wine growers' salon, Savoyard gastronomy festival, flea markets...), Albiez-Montrond offers its visitors a wide range of activities. Mountain biking is certainly the most popular sport for holidaymakers since the Maurienne is one of the largest cycling areas in the world: with its mythical passes like the Col du Galibier and the Col du Mollard, its bodies of water, its typical villages and its breathtaking natural landscapes, these excursions will be perfect for spending time while relaxing in the heart of magnificent panoramas. Rando relaxation, yoga, tai chi and pilates in the open air, observation of chamois and marmots, visit of mountain pastures, bivouac in the forest, climbing, cani-rando, Beaufort tasting, electric scooter rides, visit of the Opinel museum, electric mountain bike tour of the Albiez... These are all activities that you will have the opportunity to practice during your stay.
