In the heart of Savoy is the village of Arêches. Perched between 1080 and 2300 metres above sea level in the middle of the Alpine massif, the resort of Arêches Beaufort enjoys a high level of snow, guaranteeing holidaymakers long hours of skiing in abundant snow. This authentic and warm resort (far from the new concrete resorts) is a real favourite destination, ideal for sharing sports and gourmet moments with family or friends !
With 50 kilometres of runs including 2 green runs for beginners, 11 blue runs, 12 red runs and 4 black runs for experienced skiers, the resort offers varied itineraries, for all skiers profiles, through forests, plains and powder snow. It is divided into two distinct sectors : the Grand Mont and the Planay. This last also welcomes the plateau of Cuvy, a kindergarten very appreciated by families who come to Arêches : toboggan run, ski, discovery trail, giant cushions and picnic areas will be at your disposal during this stay.
The resort's 13 ski lifts will allow skiers to climb to the top of the mountain ranges : the "Grand-Mont" lift is one of the most popular with sports enthusiasts.
Within the resort of Arêches, many snowshoe walks are organized, accompanied by guides. Through the woods, pastures, valleys and chalets of Beaufortain, on the tracks of the chamois, you will discover all the charms of the mountain during your walks. The experienced walkers will not miss the hike to the Vallon du Chornais or the Alpage de Plan Villard : during all the excursion, you will have a panoramic sight on the snow-covered plateaus perched at 1550 meters of altitude, which will offer you sublime landscapes of an immaculate white. The hike to the Cuvy belvedere will be perfect for family walks, with the added bonus of a breathtaking view of Mont-Blanc. In winter, there are many activities in Arêches ski touring, tobogganing, alpine skiing, glacier hiking, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, bobsledding and skicross for young and old... The resort even has a snowpark called "WoodPark" which will delight freestyle fans. As for cross-country skiing, Arêches Beaufort has 20 kilometres of marked trails through plateaus, forests and valleys, ideal for discovering the surroundings. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the middle of the mountains far from the crowded slopes, enjoying a few moments of freedom... here is a perfect activity to breathe a big bowl of fresh air.
Those who are not particularly fond of skiing can take advantage of this holiday in the mountains to visit the village of Arêches, discover its farms, sawmills and local cheese dairies. Also take a tour of the market side of the resort to whet your appetite, and take Savoyard cooking lessons ! Indeed, Beaufortain is not only snowy reliefs as far as the eye can see : it is also a rich gastronomy that will delight the taste buds of many gourmands. Don't leave without tasting the famous local cheese : Beaufort, star of most local restaurants. After a long day on the slopes, opt for a hearty meal at the restaurant "Les Arolles" which dominates the Arêches valley with its terrace : here, the view is splendid and the dishes generous. The mountain restaurant "Pierra Menta" offers local cuisine and a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc and Lake Roselend. Finally, "L'Auberge du Poncellamont" and its gastronomic cuisine will conquer the hearts of fine gourmets thanks to its local products.

The village of Arêches is typical and does not look like a ski resort. It is really a village of hikers and sportsmen with many families.
