Situated in the Haute-Maurienne region, Val Cenis ski resort is a gateway to Italy, covering both the Vanoise National Park and Mont Cenis. It is therefore a silent and verdant nature that surrounds it. The inhabitants of the resort are keen to preserve the authentic spirit of the two villages that make it, Lanslebourg Mont Cenis and Lanslevillard. The modernity of the ski area marries surprisingly well with the traditional atmosphere that prevails on the municipalities.

The area of Val Cenis counts nearly 125 kilometers of marked trails which benefit the whole season of an exceptional snow. Not only reserved for skiers, you can practice there all the slides thanks to its many play spaces. Go to Easy Park, a snowpark accessible to all to learn or improve. Come and try the boardercross, a timed obstacle course, two courses reserved for beginners and a course for the regulars. Toddlers are taking their first steps on the Mickey Diary trail. A playful course with some small difficulties allows them to discover the joys of gliding while having fun.

The history of the villages of Val Cenis is closely linked with that of Mont Cenis. For centuries, this massif straddling France and Italy was an important trade route, notably for the salt and cheese trade. The villages very often welcomed visitors which left them a great hospital tradition that is still felt throughout the resort. To learn more about the history of Mount Cenis, visit the Pyramid Museum at 2100 meters above sea level.

During the summer, the resort keeps its dynamism which appeals to sportsmen ! The House of Guides offers both beginners and advanced visitors the opportunity to practice a large number of outdoor activities supervised by qualified instructors. Hiking, canyoning, climbing, via ferrata, paragliding, mountaineering... In total safety, discover unbelievable sensations in a magnificent environment.

For relaxing parties with friends or family, you will find yourself at Bowling 1480 in Lanslevillard. This space of 500 m² combines both bowling alleys and games room, where you can actually enjoy billiards, table football, darts, etc. You will also find screens broadcasting sports events and a restaurant with views of the valley. What better way to recover from a sport day ?

In Val Cenis, the restaurants let you discover all the Savoy flavors. At every street corner, a new address offers dishes from the region and elsewhere all as tempting as each other. We will not miss to spend in P'tit Grenier, this small atypical restaurant that combines with traditional and modern cuisine. Savoyard specialties share the menu with burgers and gourmet salads. Cheese lovers will not know where to head so many dishes to honor the products of the region !

La bramanette for its magnificent view and the marmots and the refuge where the welcome is irreproachable. The mountain pastures of montres for the view and their succulent cheeses.

We discovered the bread of Modane (a kind of brioche with candied fruits - you can order it from the first baker at the entrance of the village): a delight. There are good blueberry crêpes in Bonneval and fresh pasta at the Italian shop in Lanslebourg. The hike to Lake Cenis is a must: a magnificent panorama awaits us.

"Husky Adventure" : dog sledding experience (very nice souvenir, very friendly mushers). "La Ferme des P'tits Bouts" : the man is also nice and the children could give the bottle to the animals.

The Asian restaurant in Lanslebourg ("L'Atelier des Saveurs") is excellent. The activities offered to the children by the ESF and its associated day-care centre were of high quality (even this year when the lifts were closed).

In the midst of the health crisis, we had a great vacation in Lanslebourg. We learned to discover other activities than downhill skiing or snowboarding (ski touring, snowshoeing, sled dogs and so on...).

The resort village is great and the people are really welcoming. We'll definitely go back next year. In spite of the current context, the ESF beginner courses are effective and the shops are open. As far as prices are concerned, it's very pleasant because there is very little difference with the valley which is very rare for ski resorts. We really recommend this destination.

There are so many good tables everywhere and especially the restaurant "Marius & Joséphine", which is on the very site of the Alpages and which is a slaughterhouse! Be careful, your apartment fridge will stay full because you will want to go back to "Marius and Josephine" for almost every meal! An excellent Savoyard cuisine, original and really delicate dishes of the day, a boss and her waitress Mélissa always smiling and helpful, great warm and tasty moments! To recommend ++ !
