Ah, the Vendée... It is not for nothing that it is for many people the place chosen to enjoy a magnificent family holiday. Like its famous neighbours Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Saint-Jean-de-Monts and Bretignolles-sur-Mer, Givrand has everything, oh yes everything, to please those who dream of a quiet break just a few steps away from immense fine sandy beaches. Givrand is a village in bloom and has been awarded three flowers in the "Concours des villes et villages fleuris". It is above all a rural commune, quiet and appreciated for its relaxing setting. Some monuments are worth a visit in town, such as the imposing 19th century Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, or the artificial cave of Coteau and its neighbouring fortifications. And if its architectural heritage is rather modest, it is good to stroll along its charming streets, where you will find many shops to do your shopping.
Separated from the sea by a dune belt, Givrand is, like the Vendée, a land of hiking. Thanks to a large network of marked trails for pedestrians and mountain bikers, you can walk at your own pace through the neighbouring villages of Les Aboires, Les Martelières, or the place called Le Coteau, known for its fortified farm overlooking the Gué-Gorand valley, not forgetting the banks of the Gué-Gorand stream, which are perfect for a stroll in the coolness of the watercourse. Also, in a few minutes, you will be able to reach the nearby seaside resorts, stars of the Vendée coast. On the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie side, it's the Trou du Diable and the Dino's Park that we particularly recommend you to discover with your family, while further south, in Bretignolles-sur-Mer, it's the Château de Beaumarchais that you should add to your holiday "to do list". For swimming, the naturist beach of Petit Pont, but also the wonderful Plage des Demoiselles of Saint-Jean-de-Monts, without forgetting the Plage du Jaunay and the Grande Plage of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie will be ideal for your swimming interludes. In addition to walks on the sand, hikes in the wild dunes, and lazy breaks under the sun, you can opt to practice a whole range of water activities according to your desires: windsurfing, jet-skiing, stand-up paddle, canoeing, kitesurfing, sand yachting, wave skiing, surfing, wind foil and other sensational activities will undoubtedly complete your stay in Vendée.
