Situated on the Costa Brava, in the province of Girona in Spain, Blanes is a seaside resort bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. It was once the product of agriculture and fishing, and is now the scene of intense tourism. Along its 4 km of coast are the rocky spurs and the wild coves, making up a picture worthy of the greatest masters of painting. Connoisseurs like to walk down the calm calm coves, where translucent waters shimmer the thick rock walls of the cliffs.
Among the main tourist attractions, one can quote the castle of Sant Joan. This fortress of the 13th century is the work of the Order of Grau de Carbera. The architectural ensemble of rare beauty is decorated with a tower built under Charles V and is a fabulous example of the Gothic style. A few kilometers away are several notable religious buildings such as the Sanctuary of the Sagrada Imagen del Vilar or the church of Nuestra Señora. The church of Santa Maria, nestled in the lower part of the city, houses a splendid baroque altarpiece and its Gothic vaults pay tribute to the know-how of the master builders of the 14th century.
In the vicinity of Blanes, there are several botanical gardens that remind us that the climate in this part of Spain is exceptionally mild. The botanical garden of Marimutra thus delivers to the amazed gazes of the tourists more than 4000 plant species typical of the Mediterranean flora. This place of walk with winding paths dates from the 20s and has a belvedere with a breathtaking view of the sea. In the immediate vicinity of Blanes is also the tropical botanical garden Pinya de Rosa where you can discover an abundant collection of Greasy plants. Blanes is one of those Spanish cities which, far from eliminating all traces of nature, have succeeded in sublimating it.

Beautiful beaches with beautiful coves. Do not miss ARO which is worth seeing and the castle at the top of Blanes (but beware of those who want to go there by bike: the climb is rough even for people used to ride bikes).

Visit Barcelona by tourist bus, Botanic garden in Blanes, Medieval village in Pals, Ruins in Empuries, Port Aventura, Tossa de Mar. Many cheap restaurants and good food.

For the city: quite large, you can find everything (do not recommend "patisseria": unfortunately do not make good bread or good pastries). The more parks there are for children from 2 to 12 years old at every street corner, walking along the beach is pleasant. The sites are nice to visit. Direction Lloret de Mar: there is the "Gnomo Park", my children of 3, 8 and 16 years old enjoyed themselves (tree climbing, trampoline, mini golf, playground... all in the same place).
