Upper Normandy was created in 1956 and contains two departments: Seine-Maritime and Eure. It is twinned with the London Borough of Redbridge and is next to the Lower Normandy, Centre Loire Valley, Ile de France and Picardy regions.
Normandy possesses its own language that is still in use today, notably in Bessin, Cotentin and in the Channel Islands.
The climate in Upper Normandy is a typical oceanic climate, the winter temperatures are mainly mild and the summer is cool and mostly humid.
