The department has no less than 42 bastides, cities built in the Middle Ages around a central square decorated with arcades. The most famous of them is without any doubt Monflanquin, classified among the most beautiful villages of France. While visiting it you can admire the house of the Black Prince, the church of Saint-Andre and the castle of Roquefère. Then enjoy the bastides of Pujols, nestled behind its impressive ramparts, Villeréal, with its imposing 14th century wooden market hall or Vianne, built on the banks of the Baïse. With 4500 km of marked trails, the Lot-et-Garonne is a real Eden for hikers who will be able to take the Clunisien trail linking the priory of Moirax to the cloister of Moissac. By bike, follow the superb canal des 2 mers under a canopy of plane trees or follow the Véloroute de la vallée du Lot.
