Ideally located just above Lorient, Quéven is a small and charming commune in Morbihan. Only 15 minutes from the most beautiful beaches of Ploemeur, Guidel and Larmor-Plage, Quéven is the ideal place to pack your bags and discover all the richness of Morbihan, but also the nearby coasts of Finistère. A small country town halfway between fields and the ocean, on the edge of Morbihan and Finistère, Quéven is part of the agglomeration of Lorient. Modern and dynamic, this commune, rebuilt after the bombardments of the Second World War, has on its land some vestiges of its history dating back to Prehistory: at the entrance to the Gulf of Val Quéven, the Tumulus of Kerroc'h is notably classified as a Historical Monument. Dating from the Neolithic period, this cairn, nicknamed the "Trou des Chouans" with two bedrooms, is one of the oldest treasures of the Quévenois heritage, along with the menhir of Kerdehoret and the dolmen of Kerscant. On the building side, Quéven also has some beautiful buildings to see during your bucolic walks along its pretty streets: The 17th century Manor House of Kerlébert, the 1589 Kercadoret house located near the Notre-Dame de Bon Secours chapel, the 17th century Kergalant Brazh house, but also the many wells, washhouses and fountains that dot the village are all witnesses to the architecture of the Middle Ages, which left a strong mark on the town. Quéven is also marked by a remarkable military heritage: you can cross the path of the Scorff powder magazines located along the river, as well as of blockhouses located on the territory of the municipality, on the side of the place called "Moustoir Flamme".
But if there is one place that is particularly suitable for hiking, it is the Kercadoret woods: spread over some twenty hectares, this site, remarkable for its green and hilly landscapes, vibrates to the rhythm of the meandering rivers of the Scave Valley that water the lands of Queéven. During your walks, you can cross the path of many species of birds that live in this wooded massif, from the small and colourful kingfisher to the heron, passing by the cormorant very present in Brittany, the egret, the owl, and you can also see deer or foxes depending on the time of year. The Roze mudflats is also a popular place for walkers, as is the Scorff estuary and the mouth of the Scave, perfect places to walk while admiring the richness of the local flora and fauna, largely made up of migratory birds. Three beautiful hiking trails for all levels criss-cross these magnificent sites: the "Scave to Scorff" loop (10.4 kilometres), the "Golf de Quéven" circuit (5.2 kilometres), and the "Sentier de curiosité de l'estuaire du Scorff", 2.5 kilometres long.
In addition to hiking, Quéven offers its visitors the opportunity to practice a wide range of activities, starting with canoeing or kayaking on the Scorff, which means going to the Cléguer or Lorient nautical base to discover the landscapes of Quéven in time with the river's waves. If water sports are not to your liking, then why not opt for a round of golf? Alternating hilly landscapes, bucolic lakes and hills dotted with century-old trees, the Golf de Val Quélen is very popular in the Lorient area for its beautiful 18-hole course and its soothing landscapes. Finally, if you want to laze on the sand, then you will have to return to the island of Groix to discover its impressive "Tahiti Beach" with its rare beauty. The "Kerguélen Beach" in Larmor-Plage will delight fans of water sports at sea, as will the superb beaches of the seaside resort of Ploemeur, where you can practice sand yachting, paddle, sailing, scuba diving, sea kayaking or even longe-côte.

We had a great time at the port of Doelan where the waves give an amazing show with the sea wall. A small tour on the island of Port Louis with the boat bus as well as the marine base are essential activities of the area.

We found a very good creperie in Pont Scorff: "Ty Julie, la Crêpe Rit" (5, rue de Polignac). For those who like golf, the proximity of the place is a plus.
