Self-nicknamed "the smile of the Alps" after the layout of some of its buildings, Les Menuires is one of the cheapest resorts in the vast 3 valleys ski area. Whilst the architecture may be more functional than pretty the slopes are right on your doorstep and the skiing is excellent with great links to Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens. Add in the lively nightlife and host of bars and discos and it's not hard to see why Les Menuires has become a firm favourite with many people.
