Within the Bay of Palamos, the Calonge coast offers a diversity of horizons that will satisfy all your desires. To make your choice, you can take the round path which runs along the coast and allows easy access to the most remote small coves. After a few hours on the beach, discover the historic centre of Calonge. Situated slightly off the coast, it has many remarkable monuments. Visit, for example, the medieval castle, built between the 12th and 13th centuries and extremely well preserved. Protected by high walls and beautiful defensive towers, its superb inner courtyard of arms is a privileged place that hosts many events and in particular, every summer, the Interludi music festival. But also enjoy the Lloreta tower, the Valentina tower, the church of Saint Martin and the rue du Càlcul which will give you the sensation of finding yourself in the middle ages.
With its exceptional environment, Calonge is an ideal resort for hiking or cycling. In addition to the round path, many paths will allow you to appreciate the variety of natural landscapes. Walk, for example, the route that will take you through pines, olive trees and wheat fields, from the remains of the Roman town of Collet to the Madral irrigation canal passing through the dolmen of Puigsesforques. Then discover the Tinar basin, a route that follows the meanders of a small river between vineyards, woods and fruit trees. After these walks, treat yourself to new festivities by tasting the local specialities : gambas, anchovies, pa amb tomàquet, suquet, caldereta, fesols...
