Between culture and nature, architectural heritage and protected areas, Mougins is a true paradise of tranquility. Ideally located a few steps from the Mediterranean, this small town has all the necessary facilities to seduce holidaymakers in search of sunshine and green breaks, not far from the most beautiful beaches of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

Ah, definitely, we don't come to Mougins by chance. Between Cannes and Grasse, just a few kilometres from the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, Mougins is one of those small authentic villages of which the Alpes-Maritimes have the secret. Perched at an altitude of 269 metres, clinging to its hill overlooking the Gulf of Napoule and that of Juan-les-Pins, Mougins deserves to be laughed at in its heart of a particularly charming village. Lovers of old stones? You have come to the right place. Start your visit by visiting Commander Lamy's Square: with its beautiful fountain and the Town Hall located in the former Saint-Bernardin Chapel of the White Penitents, it is above all famous for sheltering the outbuildings of an old oil mill which, during the 20th century, was used by Christian Dior. Walk past the façade of 41 rue Badier to see the decorations created by Master Paul Daemen, then take the time to stroll along rue de la Glissade, place du l'Isnard, rue Commandeur or place des Mûriers. At the bend of an alleyway, you may cross the silhouette of the 16th century Notre-Dame-de-Vie chapel. A beautiful Romanesque building, it is known to have been painted by Winston Churchill (just that!), as well as to have been built on an ancient Roman temple. Walk along the remains of the old ramparts of Mougins, contemplate the magnificent neo-Provençal-style villas and art galleries that line the city's streets, and admire the medieval residences that dot the old village, residences that have inspired many painters through history, such as Paul Éluard, Jean Cocteau and Pablo Picasso. Looking for cultural breaks? Direction the André Villers Photography Museum, the Maurice Gottlob Museum, the Mougins Museum of Classical Art or the Museum of Local History, to get to know everything about this pretty corner of the Alpes-Maritimes.

Take a walk around the Valmasque departmental park: with its three wooded hills, walking trails and welcoming character, this park is the ideal place to take a family walk, but also to get moving early in the morning thanks to its sports trails and games for children. The Fontmerle pond, renowned for its large collection of lotus trees, is ideal for relaxing walks, as well as insect and flower watching. The Canal de la Siagne is also the scene of many family outings: located very close to Mas Notre-Dame (former property of Pablo Picasso, who spent the last 15 years of his life there), this canal will take you through pines, cypresses and olive trees, for a bucolic walk in Mougins.

Finally, it is impossible to stay in Mougins without visiting the most beautiful beaches on the French Riviera! Cannes and its famous Croisette, Mandelieu-la-Napoule and Juan-les-Pins are only ten kilometres from Mougins, so you can enjoy the charms of the Mediterranean in a few minutes. Swimming, sunbathing, surfing, jet-skiing, bodyboarding, paddle, sailing, sea outings to the Lérins Islands, wakeboarding or canoeing at sea will complete your stay.
