It is in Brittany, in the department of Côtes-d'Armor, that the commune of Plévenon is located. Just north of Cap Fréhel, a few steps from Erquy, Saint-Cast-le-Guildo and Dinard, Plévenon is nestled in the north of a small peninsula renowned for its coastline. Ah, the coast of Plévenon, it is beautiful! Designed by high cliffs which are 60 metres high and look down on the blue of the Channel, the coast is very jagged and has many points which you can discover by following the marked paths of the GR34: From the Pointe du Muret in the south to the Pointe de la Saudraie, via the Pointe de Château Serein, the Pointe de la Guette in the west, the Pointe du Jas, the Pointe de la Pie, the Pointe de Château Renard and the inevitable Cap Fréhel, hikers passing through Plévenon will have many memorable views of the open sea and this very particular jagged coastline. The first local star is Cape Fréhel: an exceptional site, one of the most famous in Brittany, Cape Fréhel dominates the emerald sea from its cliffs perched 70 metres above the water level. A bird sanctuary well known to birdwatchers, with its fragrant heather and brightly coloured gorse, the cape, on which stands an imposing 103-metre high lighthouse, is the starting point for a walk across the moors, which will lead you relentlessly towards the other local star: Fort la Latte. Often used as a setting in cloak and dagger films, the Fort la Latte is a real gem set on the edge of a cliff. A 14th century fortress, built opposite Cap Fréhel, it can be visited from April and will plunge you into the heart of Brittany's history. Our advice? Climb to the top of its terraces; if the visit is done by narrow stairs, we assure you that the panorama from the top of its towers is worth the visit! Before your eyes, the Emerald Coast as far as the eye can see, the moors, the coastline, the small intimate creeks where connoisseurs come to bathe... A landscape worthy of the most beautiful postcards!

But the visits do not stop there because the commune of Plévenon has many treasures to share. To see? The "Doigt de Gargantua", a large menhir erected near the Fort la Latte, but also the covered alley of the Tertre de l'église, the 17th century church of Saint-Pierre, a Romanesque calvary from the Middle Ages, or the Port-Nieux viaduct, which is popular with hikers. In addition, there is a charming built heritage, emblematic of Costa Rican architecture, proudly represented by the Castle of Meurtel and its dovecote, and a few manor houses in the town that will delight lovers of old stones.

Finally, a stay in Plévenon would not be perfect without a parenthesis on the side of its beaches. The beach of La Fosse is certainly one of the most beautiful of the north coast: adjacent to the tip of the Guette, this cove of 250 meters long is the perfect place for a relaxing break and for a diving session, as its water is clear. Around the Pointe du Château Renard, the coves are all more beautiful than the others, perfect for swimming, paddle sessions, and sunbathing breaks. Sea walks, tasting of local products and outings to Erquy and Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer will make your holidays in Plévenon unforgettable.
