About the area.
About the townThe town has a cheerful, fun atmosphere and attracts visitors young and old. There's an abundance of stores and boutiques, and the best place to go is the main pedestrian street of Calle San Miguel, where stores line up to sell you goods of all kinds.
The city is also awash with color in summer, with over a thousand species of trees and flowers planted in and around the city's streets, squares and parks.
The old fishing quarter of El Bajondillo is at the end of Calle San Miguel, at the bottom of a steep staircase, where you'll find excellent seafood restaurants and souvenir stores, and down below is El Bajondillo beach.
Torremolinos' seafront promenade stretches as far as the Benalmadena marina and is a pleasant evening stroll, where you'll pass the old fishing village of La Carihuela.
BeachesTorremolinos has six beaches in its municipality, and all have clean, golden sand and plenty of facilities, including restaurants and water sports. The 7-kilometer promenade along the beaches is perfect for an evening stroll through the picturesque fishing village of La Carihuela to the Benalmadena marina.
