On the second floor of a former olive mill, in the centre of the village of Vaiano, this charming apartment offers an authentic Umbrian experience. The spacious apartment can sleep 4 people in comfort. With a lovely shared garden and pool, it makes an ideal holiday destination for anyone looking for a quiet retreat, with easy access to the gems of Umbria and southern Tuscany.
The apartment is full of character with beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. The living room is furnished with traditional antique pieces that reflect the history of the surrounding area. There is a sofa, a flat-screen TV and an elegant antique chest. In the separate kitchen/diner guests will find newly fitted kitchen units a cooker hob, oven, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. The rustic dining table seats 6 people.
The outside space, which is shared with the downstairs apartment, has been created with as much care and attention as the interiors. The garden leads down to the beautiful swimming pool, where guests will find sun-loungers and parasols.

Location
The village of Vaiano is just 2km from the Tuscan border so makes the perfect base for visitors who want to explore Umbria and Southern Tuscany. Castiglione del Lago (15 minutes), with its medieval castle that dominates the lakeshore, offers wonderful views over the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. The ancient Etruscan city of Chiusi is just 10 minutes away, in Tuscany. It is less well-known than other Tuscan sites so not as busy. Visitors can enjoy the town’s cathedral, museum and palaces, as well as Tuesday’s weekly market, where you can find regional delicacies to enjoy on the spot or to take home. From some of Italy’s finest wines Montepulciano is just 35 minutes away.
The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 50 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage.
