Our Tikayan group welcomes you to "Le Saint Clair" campsite in the commune of Moustiers Sainte Marie in the Alpes de Hautes Provence. In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon, the Tikayan campsite "Le Saint Clair" is the starting point for numerous activities and discoveries.
The Verdon region offers a wealth of natural activities and gastronomic delights. Visit the Gorges du Verdon by pedalo or kayak from the Lac de Sainte Croix, or enjoy an unusual experience by rafting or canoeing down the Gorges.
Here are a few suggestions for your Verdon camping vacation.
The typical village of Moustiers Ste Marie is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, with a long tradition of pottery and numerous workshops to visit. The Provençal architecture will charm you with its atypical streets, its wash-house, so refreshing in summer, and its small shady squares overlooking the cliffs. For the more courageous, there's the Notre Dame de Beauvoir chapel (15-20 minute climb), with its exceptional views.
The village of Castellane on the banks of the Verdon is the sub-prefecture of the département. Located on the famous Route Napoléon, in the heart of the Haute Provence geological reserve. Once protected by fourteen towers, it boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. Don't miss the view of the ramparts, the Pont Napoléon and the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon from the terrace of the Notre Dame du Roc chapel.
Situated 3 km from the campsite, the Gorges du Verdon are the largest gorges in Europe, with cliffs ranging from 250 to 700 metres high. Many birds nest here, including griffon and black vultures. You'll be impressed by the sensational views from the various equipped stops. You can discover them mainly by rafting, kayaking or on various walks.
