This apartment is located on Via Dorsoduro, very close to Campo Santa Margherita. This square is very popular, especially during the night, amongst young Venetians. Two of the most important universities in Venice (IUAV and Ca' Foscari), as well as several high schools, are actually in this area, so Campo Margherita lightens up every evening to welcome locals and visitors for a Spritz (a typical local drink).Campo Santa Marguerita reached its current shape during the second half of the 18th Century, in which a few channels that merged into Campo Santa Margherita were drained to give birth to this square. Campo Santa Margherita owns its name to Santa Margherita, an old church that was demolished in 1810. The most important features in the square are, without a doubt, the bell tower (originally higher than the one in Saint Mark's square), a few 14th and 15th Century Venetian houses and the Scuola dei Varotari.The location of this apartment makes it possible to reach pretty easily all the important sites in Venice, as well as the railway station (Santa Lucia) and the main bus station (Piazzale Roma).
