Col Di Forche is a beautiful independent Tuscan villa with spectacular view, private swimming pool, large garden, parking, immersed in a forest of holm,oak and chestnut trees. Perched on a stunning hillside location overlooking medieval villages and the Tiber Valley but close the Village of Monterchi, in Eastern Tuscany.
In the surrounding unspoilt countryside owls and woodpeckers can be heard. The property benefits of 20 acres of surrounding hillside with easy walks.
The villa was formely occupied by the owners until the 1950s.
Chestnuts and furits were cultivated and livestock reared. An account book kept by previous rsidents records births and sales & other noteable events in the years of the Second World War.
We purchased the land and the sadly ruined house in 2001 and carefully rebuilt it, using original stone and salvageable beams, over the following 18 months.
At guests' disposal:
Private swimming pool, 6 x 12 m, open from 01 May to 30 September.
Distances:
Col di Forche is located at 5,5 km from the village of Monterchi. Monterchi has supermarkets, restaurants, butchers, barbers, florist, bars. In the summer there are free outdoor concerts at the Madonna del Parto Museum.
Nearby are the famous Tuscan towns of Anghiari, Sansepolcro and Arezzo.

Downstairs the villa has a fabulous modern stainless steel kitchen with two fridges and dishwasher, dining room, adjoining shady terrace with table to eat al fresco, 2 bedrooms: 1 twin with bathroom (shower) ensuite and 1 double with bathroom (bath) ensuite.
Upstairs there is a loggia, lounge, library, and 2 large double bedrooms, of which one has an air conditioner; each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (one with shower and one with tub).
The villa is furnished to a very high standard with minimalist furnishings to reflect the simplicity of the location. There is a large garden, with private swimming pool (6mx12m) and a fully equipped laundry room.
The fireplaces in the house cannot be used.
