Forget everything and set down your suitcases at Dominique and Sylvie's Domaine de Bretteville: an unspoilt place where flora and fauna flourish freely. This 16th-century thatched cottage, once the residence of Norman noblemen, was bought by Dominique's grandfather, who then restored the ruined building and set up his farm. Today, Dominique still grows wheat, but there are no longer any domestic animals. Squirrels, fawns, hinds and deer, as well as owls and birds of all kinds, now rule the roost. It's not unusual to catch a glimpse of them on the trails created by the owners, discreet openings in this lush natural setting, ideal for lovers of wildlife photography.
The idea of opening a gîte was born in Dominique's mind the year she turned 17. It's a real life project that he's now pursuing with Sylvie. He took care of the work, particularly the carpentry, one of his passions, and Sylvie decorated the gîtes "in the Norman style", as she likes to say. Here, you'll enjoy the simple pleasures of observing animals, listening to birdsong, eating in a tree, warming up by the fireplace after an evening hike... Sylvie loves to see the delight on her guests' faces when they discover the Domaine. Many describe the place as a "paradise", and the owners are delighted to help guests discover this timeless place in total harmony with nature.
