This pretty vacation apartment is on the first floor of a well-maintained house, conveniently located and well served by the beautiful coastal town of Santa Maria di Castellabate, which you can reach in a short drive. The apartment is ideal for a family with children, and your four-legged friend is welcome here too. The apartment has a fully-equipped terrace on the shared grounds, where you'll also find the small above-ground swimming pool, which you can share with the inhabitants of another apartment. The pleasant barbecue area is also shared, allowing you to test your grilling skills yourself, instead of visiting the good restaurants and trattorias in the area. Your owners live on the second floor. Santa Maria di Castellabate offers wide, free and equipped sandy beaches, a beautiful seafront promenade right in the village, pretty cafés and excellent restaurants where you can sample the many specialties and excellent wines of the region. Don't miss a visit to the ancient hamlet of Castellabate (UNESCO World Heritage Site), situated at around 280 metres above sea level, overlooking the entire bay of Santa Maria di Castellabate. This ancient mountain village, first mentioned in 1123, is still today, as it was in the past, a labyrinth of ancient houses, romantic alleyways, stairways, small squares with breathtaking panoramas and hidden trattorias or little bars. The "Piazzetta", or village square, is the meeting point for locals and holidaymakers alike. Here, too, you can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding hills, while the expansive sea view from the San Costabile belvedere completely fascinates observers, especially at sunset. Cilento lies in the Campania region of southern Italy, between Paestum to the north, Sapri to the south and Vallo di Diano to the east, with around 100 km of coastline, mountains and 200 small, mostly medieval villages. Culture lovers are advised to visit the majestic temple of Paestum, as well as the wide staircase with its "scaloni" and the imposing 16th-century gateway leading to the medieval old town of Agropoli, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire coast from the fortifications of the old town center. In Santa Maria di Castellabate itself, don't miss a visit to the small island of Licosa, or plan a walk of around an hour from the small port of San Marco, the neighboring village, to the "Punta Licosa"".
