Property for exclusive use
A typical example of a medieval Tuscan castle, dating back to the 12th century and built by the architect Buondelmonti as a fortress to defend feudal possessions. Transformed into a country villa in 1520, with spacious ornate rooms and elegant loggias, the castle stands on a hill overlooking the steep landscape of a verdant valley, in a panoramic position in the heart of Chianti Classico. In the opposite valley lies the famous Antinori Winery, Europe's largest, open to the public with its restaurant and tasting rooms. The furnishings are heterogeneous: the living rooms are furnished with antiques, some rooms have furniture in the original style, the rooms on the mezzanine floor are very simple, the bathrooms are simple and functional, the kitchen is limited to the essentials but is well equipped. Outside, guests have access to an equipped enclosed private meadow (350 m2) with octagonal swimming pool (12x4m; depth 3m)(01/05-17/09). Quiet location, despite the fact that the road from Florence to Siena runs along the valley floor. Included in the price: compulsory 24-hour/week domestic help. The villa is equipped with Wifi internet, air conditioning in 7 rooms and baby cot. Optional services to be requested at time of booking: cook for breakfast, lunch or dinner, extra cleaning, personal laundry service, transfer service, guide for excursions. Parking on the property.
PLEASE NOTE: Only small pets are allowed. On the 1st floor of the villa there are closed rooms that cannot be used. On request at time of booking, possibility of 5 extra beds to be paid for on site.
