Property for exclusive use
The Torre Garibaldina was once a Spanish watchtower against invading Saracen pirates. Centuries have passed and, following restoration, it has now become an extraordinary vacation destination. As with all seaside towers, its location is spectacular, overlooking the entire Gulf of Talamone, the Tuscan Coast, the Uccellina Park and the limpid days common in this corner of Tuscany, the view stretches for miles. Inland, the Maremma offers a richly wooded landscape punctuated by numerous Etruscan villages containing precious remains. Such is the fascination of the area that scenes from a James Bond film were filmed here. The tower is part of a large private estate that also includes another, smaller structure, with which it shares only the descent to the sea via steps cut into the rock and a platform. At the foot of the tower, on the sea side, there are two terraces: one with a swimming pool (6x4m; depth 1.40 m) (29/05-31/10 open from 8am to 8pm) surrounded by a wooden solarium, the other well-appointed with sofas and chairs offering a splendid belvedere, spectacular at sunset. In the evening, you can head to the characteristic village of Talamone, which you'll have had the chance to admire all day, to sample the famous Maremma cuisine or a fish speciality. Wifi Internet and domestic help for 5 days/week (except kitchen cleaning) are included in the price (for weekly rentals). Services on request and payable locally: extra hours of domestic help, baby-sitting, cook, cooking classes.
PLEASE NOTE: Accommodation for 8 people can be booked under the name TORRE GARIBALDINA 8; in this case, 2 rooms with bathroom will remain closed. Arrivals must take place between 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. For arrivals after 7.00 p.m., a supplement of 200 euros will be charged. If the kitchen is used, an additional cleaning fee will be charged (30 euros per hour).
ACCOMMODATION: (330 m2) Ground floor: small dining room with fireplace, kitchen (oven, dishwasher, microwave, small appliances, mocha coffee maker), 2 double bedrooms (air-conditioned) each with bathroom, one with shower, the other with bathtub, 1 double bedroom (air-conditioned) with bathroom with bathtub and shower. Raised ground floor: 1 double bedroom with fireplace and, climbing a small ladder, checkroom and small bathroom (shower). A small ladder leads to a small terrace at the top of the tower. 1st Et. large living/dining room with fireplace (DVD player, satellite TV) and cooking area, access to panoramic terrace equipped for outdoor dining and sofas.
Outbuilding: Ground floor: living room, 2 double bedrooms each with bathroom (shower) and air conditioning. All bedroom windows have mosquito nets.
DISTANCES: 2.5 km Fonteblanda (grocery stores), 7 km Talamone, 25 km Porto Santo Stefano and Ansedonia, 27 km Porto Ercole and Grosseto, 100 km Siena, 170 km Rome.
