As you walk its streets, you will discover a heritage that bears witness to a rich past. Admire in particular the Romanesque church of Saint-Nicolas-de-Brem, one of the oldest in the Vendée, built at the beginning of the 11th century and listed as a historic monument. Also visit Saint-Martin-de-Brem church, an old pilgrimage chapel with an elegant bell tower with a "swallow's beak" (the slender arrow represents the beak) and see the oldest monument in the village : the menhir de la Crulière, also classified and nicknamed "la Pierre du Diable".
After a pleasant walk in the heart of Brem-sur-Mer, take the ocean road. Nearby, no less than 5 beaches offer you different atmospheres. Go, for example, to the Sauzaie beach, rather wild with its rocky coast and its many coves. It also offers one of the best surf spots in the Vendée. If you prefer fine sand, choose the Normandelière beach, ideal for families. Its nautical base offers courses and rental equipment for sailing, windsurfing, kayaking... Several playgrounds are available for badminton, beach volleyball or beach-soccer.
Hiking enthusiasts will also be delighted by their stay in Brem-sur-Mer. The Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie region is criss-crossed by nearly 300 kilometres of marked paths and 350 kilometres of cycle paths. Around Brem-sur-Mer, these paths will allow you to stroll between vineyards, marshes and countryside but also to join the hamlet of La Gachère, old fishing port nestled on the estuary of Auzance, very typical with its small whitewashed houses. During your excursions, take the time to take a few gourmet breaks to taste the local specialities : seafood, fish, pre-fou, ham mogettes, brioche, waste and AOC "Fiefs Vendéens" wines produced in Brem-sur-Mer.

The region is beautiful, you can't get tired of the coastline and the walks along the coast. The market of Bretignolles on Sundays is very nice. The fishmongers are magnificently busy.

The region is pleasant, with many walks along the coast and cycle paths everywhere. To do: the rocky coast (after Les Sables d'Olonne" and the "Puit d'Enfer" (hiking trail). Many restaurants in St Gilles, especially those along the large beach because the view of the sea and its sunset is very nice.
