In the centre of the village, between the discovery of old buildings with Florentine staircases and small artisanal shops with a crazy cachet, the Tour de Scalo is also worth seeing: built during the 16th century, it was once used as a salt warehouse before becoming a military powder magazine in the 18th century and then a prison during the Second World War. The former military barracks of 1765 (now the Town Hall), but also the covered market classified as a Historical Monument in 1993, the war memorial between sea and mountains or the Paoli Square are to be added to your list of visits. On the latter, a bust of Pascal Paoli (founder of the city) and a sculpture of "Bather" are enthroned. For wilder beaches, head for Gjunchitu and Bodri beaches, or the Pietra cove: be careful, dreamy panoramas at the end!

Very pretty city, very pleasant, recommend the little train that will take you to the lighthouse of the Pietra which will give you another corner of Ile Rousse. Beautiful region, and very nice Corsicans.
