Leaning against the mountains of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, Poggio-Mezzana is one of those dream destinations that you think you'd only come across on postcards... And yet, Poggio-Mezzana is very real! Nestling in the heart of the Costa Verde, in the district of Corte, Poggio-Mezzana will delight lovers of holidays under the sun.

Between the sea and the mountains, about forty kilometres south of Bastia, Poggio-Mezzana is located at an altitude of 320 metres. The village is made up of five hamlets: Mazzana, Pianella, Renoso, E Murelle and Poggio. It is made up of beautiful typical Corsican houses with slate roofs, narrow cobbled streets particularly suitable for walking, dotted with vaulted passageways and wooded squares offering incredible views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Tuscan islands off the coast. What will seduce you at Poggio-Mezzana? In addition to its singularly elegant architecture and pleasant setting, what makes its visitors happy is its quietness. Ah, how far away are the crowded seaside resorts where it is hard to find a terrace to sit down on, a corner of sand where you can plant your parasol... In complete tranquillity, you can discover the splendour of Poggio-Mezzana's heritage, from the baroque church of St. John the Baptist (easily identifiable thanks to its colourful façade) to the red brick church of St. Lawrence of Renoso, with its 15th century church of St. John.

But let's face it: what makes the holidaymakers in Poggio-Mezzana crackle are its beaches. Each one more beautiful than the other, they border the seaside resort on 17 kilometres of fine sand. From the Talasani beach lined with pine trees and fragrant eucalyptus to the beach of Alba Serena, passing by the splendid beach of Figaretto, you will discover all the splendour of the coastline. Pleasant because they are not very crowded, these wild and particularly sunny beaches are ideal for family bathing, but also for picnics, sunbathing, swimming, hiking or beach volleyball. One thing is sure though: whether you are sporty, contemplative or like to crawfish under the sun, you will inevitably succumb to the crystal-clear water that borders the beaches of Poggio-Mezzana!

Finally passing through Poggio-Mezzana, take the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful corners of Corsica. Hikers? Put on your sneakers and set off to conquer the wooded hills surrounding Poggio-Mezzana: there, amidst the olive groves, chestnut groves and the lush nature that characterises the village, a true experience of "natural" Corsica awaits you. The famous Cascade de l'Ucelluline is only a dozen kilometres away, so you can easily get there on foot, by bike or by car, just like the less known and yet so beautiful Struccia waterfall!
