Close your eyes and imagine for a few moments the perfect holiday scene, where a small village perched in the mountains of Haute-Savoie thrives against the backdrop of the snow-capped peaks of Mont Blanc and unforgettable views of the immaculate valleys... You are there ? Welcome to Combloux! Described by Victor Hugo as the "Pearl of the Alps in its glacier setting", this village resort renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views just 5 minutes from Megève (and 1 hour from the Swiss and Italian borders) is the ideal place for a family sports holiday, winter and summer alike.
Connected to the "Portes du Mont-Blanc" ski area (100 kilometres of pistes) and to the large "Evasion Mont-Blanc" area (445 kilometres of pistes), Combloux, also known as "La perle du Mont Blanc", offers its visitors huge playgrounds for all levels. Divided into three sectors linked skis to feet, the "Portes du Mont-Blanc" ski area is loved by ski lovers thanks to its family-friendly slopes. The north-east facing Combloux sector is largely composed of red runs, renowned for the beautiful panoramic views they offer. As a family, note that the blue "La Croix" trail is ideal for learning gently through the snow-covered tree paths. In the Megève-Le Jaillet sector, it is ideal to take the "Portes du Mont-Blanc" gondola lift, which will take you to the slopes perched at 1580 metres. From there down to the resort there are two absolutely great trails for beginners and children : the "7 Dwarfs" trail and the "Santa Claus" trail. The La Giettaz sector is surely the wildest, with its beautiful forests, its mountain pastures and its chamois. We advise you to climb in the early morning in the chairlifts "Grande Rare" and "Tête du Torraz" to admire the sun rising on the glittering snow that envelops the Beaufortain massif, the Mont-Blanc and the Avaris like velvet down. Amateurs of new glides ? Head for the Boarder Cross, the Snowboard Area or the La Croix or La Giettaz snowpark, which seduces a good number of "green" sportsmen with its modules made entirely of wood. As for cross-country skiing, Combloux offers its most sporty holidaymakers two hiking loops facing Mont-Blanc, across the Arly plain, Mont d'Arbois and Encraty. Fans of large virgin spaces, quiet and far from the animation of the resort? Opt for ski touring : off the beaten track, it seduces each year more and more holidaymakers who, far from the ski lifts and the traditional ski slopes, let themselves be carried away by the tranquility of the snow-covered valleys to discover secret little corners, powdery slopes and ever more enchanting landscapes. If the resort offers a perfect setting for skiing in all its forms, non-skiers are not neglected because Combloux offers its visitors a wide range of activities. Snowshoes are certainly the most pleasant way to discover the charms of the mountain. Accessible at all levels, many snowshoe excursion routes are traced through the Combloux valleys, from the Col du Jaillet to Christomet via the Vernay, the Montavus, the Planet Alpage, the Prapacot Alpage and the Ravine. You can also go tobogganing, dog sledding and let yourself go to wellness breaks in summer and winter : Yoga hiking, Qui Gong in the open air or massages... You will be spoilt for choice.
Once the white gold has melted, the mountain takes on some of its most beautiful colours. First of all, green : with its valleys, its mountain pastures, its passes and its forests, the mountain in summer offers its visitors a whole range of brighter greens each one than the other. Finally what makes the heart of the holidaymakers vibrate : it is the blue. The blue of the sky of course, but also the blue of the torrents, the waterfalls, the rivers and the lakes of altitude, famous for their extraordinary magnificence. As far as activities are concerned, the mountain in summer is definitely a pleasure for sportsmen. Climbing, via ferrata, hiking (panoramic walk on the Mont-Blanc chain, "Sentier du Baroque", hiking "Au Col du Jaillet"...), excursions to the "Jardin des Cimes" or the Gorges de la Diosaz, summer sledging, paragliding, flying over the mountains in a hot-air balloon, visiting local farms, horse riding, caving, cani-hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canyoning, rafting down the Giffre, swimming at the Combloux biotope lake... Only one question comes to mind then : Where are you gonna start ?
