At the foot of the Superdévoluy ski resort, Saint-Étienne-en-Dévoluy is located in the Hautes-Alpes department. A preserved bubble in the heart of the mountains, the village is now linked to the communes of La Cluze, Saint-Disdier and Agnières-en-Dévoluy to form a single town called Dévoluy.
Perched between 1134 and 2652 metres above sea level in the heart of the mountains of the Dévoluy massif, Saint-Étienne-en-Dévoluy offers its visitors a perfect setting for family or couple stays, whether they are under the theme of letting go or rather sporting. Whatever your profile, it is likely that this high perched village will satisfy all your desires. Take the time to visit it, on foot, by bike or snowshoe, depending on the season and the snow cover; you will discover, through the alleys of its many hamlets, a wide religious heritage, such as the Chapelle Saint-Grégoire (hamlet of Les Rioupes), the Chapelle Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens (hamlet of Giers-le-Courtil), those of Saint-Joseph (hamlet of Truziaud) and Sainte-Anne (hamlet of Le Pré). Pass through the site of Les Étroits, cross the banks of the Souloise, pass through the Col du Noyer (1664 metres above sea level), or even through the Col de Rabou via the GR94 trails (1888 metres above sea level), for incomparable views of the Pic du Bure, the Truziaud ridges and the Souloise valley. Experienced walkers? Climb the heights of the Pic de Bure: up there, from its 2709 metres of altitude, the panorama is really worth a look, on the Vercors massif, the Écrins massif or the Lubéron mountain that you can observe on a clear day. The plateau site also houses one of the region's proudest sites, the Millimetric Astronomy Observatory, the largest observatory in the Northern Hemisphere.
But what attracts visitors to Saint-Étienne-en-Dévoluy above all is its ski resort of Le Dévoluy. Spread out between 1470 and 2500 metres above sea level, it reveals a large ski area with more than 100 kilometres of downhill ski slopes for all levels, with 27 blue slopes for children and beginners, 9 green, 14 red and 5 black slopes for adrenaline lovers respectively. As for cross-country skiing, 35 kilometres of itineraries in skating or alternative will make lovers of beautiful panoramas and sporting outings crack. You will also find in the resort areas for new snow sports such as the snowpark served by the "Le Pré du Renard" ski lift and the "Mushroom's Park", much appreciated by riders for its 5 rails, its 12 modular boxes, its big air, its mini big air for the youngest, its lines for all levels and its boardercross which will delight aficionados of sensations. Finally, during the summer, the resort offers many hiking trails, but also mountain bike or trail trails, via ferrata sessions, trout fishing, climbing and caving for the whole family.
