Les Deux Alpes does not offer the same face according to whether one is in winter or in summer.

In winter, this ski resort located in Oisans, in the heart of the Massif des Ecrins in Isère, culminates at 1650 m altitude. Les Deux Alpes has one of the largest ski glaciers in Europe. Renowned in France as in the rest of Europe, the resort was originally only a disparate assemblage of alpine pastures, hiking trails and forgotten hamlets. Les Deux Alpes have succeeded in modernizing their image by building a snowpark that occasionally hosts the events of the major ski brands and sports competitions. If you are not a fan of skiing or surfing, there is no need to worry. Snowshoeing, sledding, paragliding, sledding or sledge: you will be spoiled for choice.

In summer, it is the mountain bike that is in the spotlight. Several million euros have been invested to develop the multiple downhill mountain biking trails. No less than 21 tracks are the delight of thrill seekers. This does not, however, compare to the 200 km of footpaths in Les Deux Alpes. You can for example take the walk of the Molière and discover the farm of the same name. With its low elevation and numerous views, this is an ideal walk to do with family. Finally, the village of Mont de Lans is a popular base for hikers who enjoy the open air while admiring with delight the plateau of Emparis and the villages of Auris en Oisans and Mizoën. Once they arrive, they visit the Chasal Lento Museum, which traces the history of the valley and its hawkers.

The ESF snowshoe outing is great, the guide takes you on unknown trails and the view is superb. We even saw chamois...

We particularly appreciated the quality of the restaurant "Toura" in altitude with pizzas of a rare quality with fresh products as well as the cosy restaurant "Crêpes à Gogo" in the resort. Here you can eat pancakes (made by Bretons) or Savoyard specialities such as a porcini mushroom fondue in a mountain setting with cool jazz music. The welcome is warm. Evening bookings must be made in advance. You can also enjoy a Chouffe en pression during the afternoon.

Glacier tour in tamper: a must see for the magnificent landscapes and to discover the profession of tamper. Snowshoe trekking in the Molière: super nice supervision, adorable doggies and very friendly meals under the tepee, even if it's a little cold (luckily there's a good mulled wine!). To do.

Very interesting resort in summer for mountain bikes but also very beautiful hikes, a magnificent view, a cable car going up to 3600m and 3 chairlifts including one free. Many quality shops and restaurants, you will also enjoy a dip in the outdoor swimming pool. In the nearby surroundings, other resorts and of course the Écrins Natural Park: not to be missed!
