In the heart of Savoie, in the Tarentaise valley, Valmorel welcomes you in all seasons for a relaxing and exotic holiday. In a sumptuous mountain environment, you can enjoy the great outdoors in a village elected best family resort in the world in 2014.
Inaugurated in 1976, the Valmorel winter sports resort offers ideal conditions to devote long hours to the joys of skiing. With about fifty lifts, connected to the Grand Domaine, it has 165 kilometres of slopes of all levels. Children and beginners can practice in the 6 specially equipped and secure areas and experts can join the snowparks, boardercross or snowcross. If you prefer Nordic skiing, the domain offers you more than 50 kilometres of maintained routes that criss-cross plateaus, valleys and ravines.
In summer, Valmorel becomes a haven of greenery and offers a very wide range of activities. First of all, take advantage of the magnificent natural setting by taking one of the domain's ten hiking trails. You will have the choice between a family walk or a more sportive hike ! Cyclists will be able to tackle one of the most mythical summits of the Tour de France : the Col de la Madeleine. For mountain biking, the offer is really impressive with 6 downhill runs, 6 enduro routes, 7 cross-country circuits and 5 lifts accessible. But to vary the pleasures, many other leisure activities await you : swimming pools, climbing, via ferrata, adventure course, kayaking, rafting, canyoning, paragliding...
Summer and winter alike, take the time to discover the pretty village of Valmorel. Nestled on the slopes of the Cheval Noir, in a wooded environment, the resort is distinguished by its architecture where only noble materials have the right of city : wood, stones, lauzes. As you stroll through its pedestrian streets, you will appreciate the charming little squares and the many covered passages lined with shops. Within the estate, also visit the traditional villages of Celliers and Nâves and the spa resort of La Léchère-les-Bains. During your excursions, make a few gourmet stops to taste the local flavours : berthoud, diots in white wine, Savoyard fondue, gratin of crozets, tartiflette, cheeses, blueberry tart...

We had shuttle buses and the shuttles refused to take them up. We won't come back to this resort because it's impossible to reach the mountain bike trails without using the car, which we refuse to do on holidays when there are shuttles.

The whole resort is in paid parking of 10€ per day... the way to cut it off : park 5 km down the road and come back by free shuttle bus.
