Mers-les-Bains is the southernmost seaside resort in Picardy. Playful, sporty, classified and historic, Mers-les-Bains has seduced many holidaymakers every year since the time of the sea baths thanks to its sumptuous villas classified on the seafront, its chalk cliffs, its coastal paths and its attractive living environment.

Mers-les-Bains is a resolutely authentic destination on the Channel coast, in the Somme. Once frequented by Victor Hugo, Jules Vernes or Gustave Eiffel, this elegant resort has not lost any of its beauty over the years. Full of character, Mers-les-Bains is recognizable among thousands because of its atypical seafront : thus, facing its pebble beach, line up along the esplanade of the Art Nouveau and Belle Epoque villas. Classified as an "Outstanding Heritage Site", the Mersois seaside district is a witness to the development of the resort during the time of the sea baths. With its tall villas colored blue, young, green, red, pink and purple, this waterfront is one of the most beautiful postcards of the city. With their bow windows, elaborate balconies, loggias, ceramics and mosaics, these villas are one of the jewels of local architecture. As far as heritage is concerned, you can also take a stroll in Mers-les-Bains and see the Ruelle des Matelots and its Calvary whose cross is decorated with anchors : although Mers-les-Bains is no longer a fishing port, this activity has nevertheless fed most Mersoises families for over 2 centuries.

In terms of sporting activities, hiking, horse riding or cycling is the best way to discover Mers-les-Bains and its surroundings. In all, more than a hundred kilometres of marked paths criss-cross the resort and the Maritime Bresle Valley, through its cliffs, coastline, forests, nature reserve, ponds and mills. The "Circuit de la mouette", 29 kilometres long, connects Mers-les-Bains to Bourseville via Eu and Le Tréport. During this walk, you will have the opportunity to admire the exceptional beauty of the cliffs Normano-Picardes as well as the richness of the Bay of the Somme and the coastline of the English Channel. The coastal path along the Albâtre Coast offers breathtaking views of the sea and white chalk peaks. For walkers, the part of the GR21 "Mers-les-Bains - Bois de Cise" promises moreover on more than 8 kilometres of impregnable landscapes until the Bay of the Somme and the Opal Coast : the point of view of Notre-Dame de la Falaise embraces a broad panorama on the bay, ideal to admire as of dawn when the first rays of the sun illuminate the sea.

Spreading over more than a kilometre along a pedestrian esplanade where you will love to stroll on foot or during bike rides, the beach of Mers-les-Bains is composed of pebbles at high tide, and a thick sandbar which is discovered at low tide, revealing then an immense playground for children and adults. With its white bathing cabins, cliff views and beautiful period villas, this beach has everything to please. In addition to the traditional relaxing and swimming sessions, you can surf, paddle, windsurf, kayak and sail, or even launch yourself from the cliffs during a first flight that will allow you to discover the coast from the sky. Finally, in case of mixed weather, bowling, mini-golf and casino will not fail to delight young and old alike !
