Ideally located in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the commune of Gassin, perched 200 metres above sea level on a rocky beak, enjoys an exceptional location for holidays by the sea. It will seduce lovers of idleness, but also those who love escapades in the wilderness.

Classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", Gassin was long called the "Vigie du Golfe". Facing the sea, the commune dominates immense vineyards and large green areas. Its winding alleys and flowered typical of the villages of Provence as well as its picturesque houses give it a crazy charm. Don't be surprised if, at the bend of an alley, the signs indicating the names of the streets seem to date from another era : scattered throughout the city, the vestiges of Gassin's medieval past abound, as evidenced by the gates of Rue Longue or the "Porte des Sarrazins". Take the time to stroll in its alleys and climb up the city to observe, from the terrace of the ramparts and Deï Barri square, a breathtaking panorama on the Massif des Maures and the surrounding islands. The Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolation chapel are also worth a look : if the former stands in the middle of the village, the latter is hidden in a green setting. It is known for hosting classical music concerts, as well as mass at the village festival.

Gassin is full of curiosities, it can be proud to have the smallest street in the world : Androuno, only 29 centimeters wide. So we go through it one by one, in profile and preferably... before eating to be sure not to get stuck !

Hikers and cyclists will be able to enjoy the myriad of marked trails that dot the region. If you want to discover all the secrets of Gassin, the ideal is to go on the "Randonnée du chemin de la Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Compassion" : this 4 km long walk through the village, the vineyards, the sheepfolds, the wash houses and the mills will lead you to fabulous panoramas on the islands of Hyères and the castle of Grimaud. You can also walk along the Var coast, inland or along the coastal paths, to discover the magnificence of the panoramas that border the Mediterranean. From Gassin, you can reach the towns (and beaches) of Saint-Tropez, Grimaud, Ramatuelle, La Croix-Valmer or Sainte-Maxime.

In Gassin, you will particularly appreciate the petanque competitions facing the sea, the meals with friends to the sound of the cicadas singing, as well as the golf games with a view of the Mediterranean and its famous beaches. The seaside resort of Gassin has three beaches on which you can relax : the Treizain beach, the Bouillabaisse beach and the Moune beach. The first, located on the road to Saint-Tropez, is rather wild and preserved. It lends itself perfectly to rest, equipped with a good book and a tube of sun cream. The second, offers a sumptuous setting to make a few fathoms and discover the joys of water sports like sailing and catamaran. Finally, the Bouillabaisse beach will be the ideal place for an introduction to water skiing and windsurfing. Do not hesitate to settle down there for a picnic at the end of the day, to observe an amazing sunset over the Massif des Maures.
