If you were to choose only one destination for a holiday in the sun, the Côte d'Azur would certainly be the ideal holiday destination. Sunbathers at the edge of a clear sea, along beautiful beaches of fine sand ? Stop over in the town of Grimaud, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region. Perched in the heart of the Massif des Maures, just on the edge of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the town of Grimaud is an ancient medieval city renowned for its gentle lifestyle. Over the years, it has kept its authenticity and picturesque character, thanks in particular to its pretty flowered streets, typical of Provence.

The town is dominated by its castle : take its small cobbled streets lined with art galleries and climb up to the ruins of this 11th century monument, from where you will have an exceptional view of the coastline and the green massifs of the Moors. With a rich historical and cultural heritage, Grimaud has several chapels and a Romanesque church: the church of Saint-Michel dating from the 11th century was for a long time the most imposing in the whole region.

Hikers can discover the many walking trails that cross Grimaud and the surrounding villages. After visiting the old town, take the Pont des Fées trail : this walking tour is popular with hikers who love nature and the landscapes of Provence. By taking this loop, you can capture all the riches of Grimaud and its surroundings, such as the Pont des Fées, nestled right in the Maures massif. This ancient aqueduct which once brought water to the village of Grimaud is an essential stop on this beautiful walk in the heart of nature.

A few kilometres further down is the internationally renowned city of Port Grimaud, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Its pretty colourful houses and its numerous beaches make it a charming and popular place for holidaymakers.

Lazy lovers can relax on one of the beautiful beaches of the seaside resort. The fine sandy beach of the Vieux-Moulin is ideal to enjoy a few moments of relaxation, with its turquoise water and its superb view on Saint-Tropez. With its picturesque bridge and its small lighthouse, Cigales beach is a pretty, calm and shady stretch, ideal for sunbathing. On foot, you can also access the nearby beaches of Saint-Tropez and enjoy a café facing its famous port. Jet skiing, water skiing, motor boat rental, sailing, but also surfing on the beach of Beauvallon : you will have understood many activities will be available to lovers of water sports during this stay. Finally, you will be able to initiate you with the equitation, to make a game of golf or tennis, and to rent bicycles to walk you along the littoral varois and to appreciate all the charms of the Riviera.
