Envy for sea, sand and the sound of waves brushing against the hulls of ships ? Come and taste the sweetness of life that is so characteristic of the cities of southern France by spending a holiday in La Seyne-sur-Mer. Located in the Var department, right next to Toulon, this pretty seaside resort, a former mecca of the naval industry, is today a privileged holiday resort thanks to its rich historical heritage and its 25 kilometres of magnificent coastline.

Between fine sandy beaches and secret coves with turquoise water, La Seyne-sur-Mer has enough to conquer the hearts of holidaymakers in search of tranquility. To the south of the city, Fabregas beach is the perfect place for families : sheltered from the wind, its shallow, crystal clear water is very popular with children. On this pretty black sandy beach surrounded by pine trees, you can learn how to sail on small boats and even kayaks. Equipped with your masks and snorkels, explore the seabed of the beach of la Verne located not far from the beach of Fabregas. This superb stretch of pebbles, quiet and little frequented, is a real little corner of paradise. You can jet-ski, water hike or windsurf, with a beautiful view of the rocks of the Two Brothers located offshore. Finally, the Sablettes beach is the place not to be missed. Famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches on the Var coast, the activities on offer are numerous : tree-climbing, horse riding, tennis, windsurfing, or scuba diving, as you will have understood, sports enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice.

On the forest side, take the "Corniche Merveilleuse" : it will allow hikers to reach the top of the Cap Sicié massif. It is in the shade of the green pines that most of your walk or bike ride will take place, with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea. The Tamaris cornice is full of superb views from which you can admire the pretty hidden villas of La Seyne-sur-Mer.

Do not miss the cultural and architectural heritage of the city. Stroll along its marina and in its narrow and authentic streets, characteristic of the cities of Provence. Start with its church Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Voyage, built in 1674 on the shore of the harbour : thanks to its neo-Gothic façade, its organs and its gilded wooden statues representing Saint Pierre and Saint Paul, it is listed as a historic monument. Further south, take the time to visit Fort Napoleon : built between 1812 and 1821 at the request of Napoleon himself, this beautiful building now houses a contemporary art gallery and hosts concerts and festivals throughout the year.

Finally, taste the flavours of the region's gastronomy : seafood, truffles, anchovy, figs, olive oil will perfume your dishes during your stay under the sun.
