Between Cavalaire-sur-Mer and Le Lavandou, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is located in the heart of the French Riviera. Between the sea, mountains and woods, this little paradise for lovers of green holidays multiplies the invitations to come and discover its many faces.

In the heart of a natural circus at the foot of the Maures massif, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer never ceases to captivate the hearts of its visitors. Here, it is the beauty of its unspoilt natural spaces that is instantly apparent. From the blue of the sky to the yellow of its mimosa, through the green of its abundant vegetation, the blond of its sand and the turquoise of its water, a whole range of colourful landscapes will dazzle you during your stay. Far, far away from the concrete seaside resorts, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is wooded on 80% of its territory, offering outdoor enthusiasts a huge open-air playground. Between heather, cork oaks, pines and mimosas, the views of the sea below are enough to make your head spin. So that you can make the most of its charms, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer has a number of marked trails and other hiking routes, suitable for both quiet family walks and sporty treks. In all, there are nearly 12 different loops that will take you through the woods, the mimosa clumps and the seaside. The "Balcons de Pramousquier" circuit, the "Belvédère de la Louve" circuit, the routes of the Maures massif, the panoramic Malatra hike, the routes through the Canadel hills, those of the Haut Rayol, or the mountain bike trail of the old railway line are particularly recommended, as is the "Rayol Canadel through the Mimosas" circuit. The latter, off the beaten track, will make you discover the calm and splendour of the village, through little-used paths lined with fragrant mimosas: a must to do! But if there is one site that should not be forgotten, it is the Canadel Pass. Offering a breathtaking panorama of the Mediterranean and the Hyères islands off Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, it is worth the detour both during the day and at sunset, when the sky and the sea take on their bright colours.

After exploring the surrounding nature, make a refreshing stop in the heart of the village. A seaside resort built in terraces, it has many staircases (including the Monumental Staircase), and thus, splendid views of the sea below. Elegant, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is home to many opulent Belle Époque style villas by the sea, as well as large gardens with exotic vegetation that contrasts with the local biodiversity. Moreover, on the cornice of the Maures, the Botanical Garden of the Domaine du Rayol will make you discover all the Mediterranean essences, for an olfactory and playful visit. Visit also the church of Sainte-Thérèse and its outdoor amphitheatre, but also the round pergola of Le Patec and its flowered stairs (impregnable belvedere on the Grande Bleue), without forgetting to take a walk in one of the restaurants of the commune to delight you with good local dishes (cade, tapenade, ratatouille, Provençal sea bream, pistou soup, tarte tropézienne, nougat, grilled fish, pissaladière, Provençal clafoutis, pan-bagnat, fougasse, bouillabaisse...) before heading for the beaches of the seaside resort. Ah, the beaches of Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer... Each one is more beautiful than the other (although you have to love the postcard decorations...), they will be perfect for your swimming sessions as well as for sunbathing. From the beach of Canadel to the Pointe du Figuier, passing by the beach of Pramousquier, those of Rayol and Canadel, all are worth the detour! The latter in particular, as well as the Figuier beach, are famous scuba diving spots thanks to the astonishing richness of the sea bed: you can easily observe a whole bunch of small fish and aquatic plants, equipped with masks and snorkels.
