Good tips not to be missed: Visit of the Lautaret Botanical Garden and passage to the village La Salle les Alpes where there is a leisure park with a multitude of services offered. To "break the meal" with a good quality/price ratio: The Grill/creperie "A vos papilles" and just in front of the restaurant / bar of the Casino de Jeu.

Take a walk from the hamlet at the foot of the pass (access on the right 5 km after the Lautaret pass towards La Grave, before the village of Villar d'Arène) to the Alpe de Villar d'Arène refuge. 400 m of altitude difference, 1h30 on foot, full of marmots on the route just before arriving at the refuge and a very beautiful panorama. Possibility to eat at the refuge with nice guards. Another exit is Lake Orceyrette above Briançon, you can drive there, you'd think you were in Canada. Another walk is the village of La Grave with its picturesque hamlets and its view of the Meije massif.

An excellent address for an Italian restaurant in Exille (Piedmont) at the foot of the castle: unforgettable for the décor and affordable for the prices! Not far from the border. And in the valley of Clarée, above the Vachette, in Foncouverte, inn of the fruit farm, authentic atmosphere of altitude with view on the paradise ! magic corner far from the agitation of Briançon.

We drove to Chantemerle every day which is 5 mins drive away. You can hike, ski, casino, shop in briancon, museums... loads to do.

We loved the snow groomer trip with the visit of the snow factory, for the trip with meal in an altitude chalet book at the beginning of the stay the places are expensive, the thermal baths of Monetier, excellent after a day of skiing. Visiting the gargoyle is very beautiful and we eat very well there.
