Not far from Le Puy Saint-Vincent, Pelvoux is a family ski resort perched at an altitude of 1250 metres. With its modern facilities and picturesque village, this charming destination is a delight for young and old, who can enjoy a wide range of mountain activities, whatever their level. In addition to making sportsmen happy, Pelvoux delights lovers of wide open spaces and nature thanks to the sumptuous scenery of the Vallouise valley and the changing relief of the Hautes-Alpes.

Village resort located in the ubac of the valley, it offers ski slopes suitable for all levels, whether you ski with family, friends, off-piste or on hikes. Located upstream from the Vallouise valley, in the heart of the Ecrins National Park, the Pelvoux high-mountain resort has some of the most prestigious peaks in the department, culminating at an altitude of more than 3,500 metres, like the Barre des Ecrins (4,101 metres), the most famous peak in the entire massif of the same name. This rather modest resort is composed of 8 ski lifts for 12 beautiful ski runs. Relatively intimate, it is more suitable for families who would like to discover the joys of the mountains far from crowded resorts. Slightly apart from the other slopes, the beginner's area is on the snow front, with gently sloping slopes ideal for novices to learn the pleasures of skiing in complete safety. You will find there the chairlift of Péron which will enable you to join in less time than it is necessary to say it the higher part of the skiable area and its other ski slopes. Go down the blue slopes of Les Essards and Les Mélèzes, and if you are familiar with the pleasures of skiing, take the Crête ski lift which will take you straight to the most technical slopes in the area, which are the red slopes of La Crête and Les Ajourdines, and the black slopes of La Combe du Loup. From the peaks of these tracks perched at more than 2300 meters of altitude, the panoramas are absolutely sumptuous on Pelvoux, the peaks of Queyras and the neighbouring resorts of Risoul, Serre-Chevalier and Vars. For a gliding session combining calm, nature and discovery, take the direction of the Puy Aillaud sector: from this sunny plateau which dominates a large part of the Vallouise valley, the views are really magnificent. Beloved by off-piste enthusiasts, Pelvoux offers adventurers some amazing off-piste and freeride routes through its forests, passes and powdery pastures. For more sporting sliding activities, the resort of Pelvoux-Vallouise has a snowpark on its sector of the Ball very appreciated for its many bumps. Whether you are a beginner or just curious, you will find something to please you since it has an initiation area. Cross-country skiing and skating enthusiasts, beginners or experts, know that the resort of Pelvoux has over 30 kilometres of marked Nordic ski runs, across its sunny plains. But in this resort on a human scale, the activity is not limited to skiing : you can also go snowshoeing, climb ice falls, paraglide over snow-covered mountains, run-off (hiking on frozen torrents), spend whole afternoons skating, dog sledding, but also snake sliding or sledging, a very popular activity within the resort. For relaxation breaks, you can even consider giving yourself a few hours of well-being in a mobile sauna with a view of the mountains.

During the summer, once the snow has given way to the thick green mantle of the alpine pastures and the high-altitude lakes finally reveal their brilliant blue, the mountain becomes the favourite playground of outdoor sports fans. On foot or by mountain bike, hiking is certainly the best way to enjoy the clean and invigorating mountain air. In the heart of the Ecrins National Park, in the mountain pastures or via the Glacier Noir, there are many itineraries to allow you to discover all the richness of its fauna, flora and splendid panoramas. With the family, the "Pelvoux washhouses and chapels" is a route of about 5 kilometres, perfect for discovering together via accessible paths the richness of the local heritage. Another itinerary not to be missed is the Eychauda Lake trail. From the hamlet of Chambran, through the valleys where sheep, marmots and birds live in harmony, this itinerary takes in the beautiful panoramas from zig-zag paths, to finish its race at the foot of the milky Eychauda lake. In the hollow of the mountains, this magnificent lake is the ideal place for a picnic. If you like high altitude lakes, go to the foot of the famous Glacier Blanc to discover the superb Lake Tuckett which will offer you unforgettable panoramas on Mount Pelvoux a good advice, do not forget to immortalize the scene worthy of a postcard, when the mountain is reflected in the waters of the lake ! In addition to hiking and mountain biking excursions, during your stay in Pelvoux you can also take outdoor yoga classes, mountaineering, electric biking, via ferrata in the Gorges d'Ailefroide or canyoning at the Eychauda waterfalls, mini-golf, tennis or fishing.
