The most beautiful outing we have done is the cable car ride to La Grave at 3200m with a visit to the ice cave: it is worth it but you have to drive a bit over the Galibier pass (beautiful panorama).

Free activities: it is absolutely necessary to visit the Devil's Bridge where children can do the tree climbing (for a fee) is located a little above Modane in Esseillon and on the way back the waterfall st Benoit in Avrieux can have a picnic. To do in the morning absolutely go see the marmots of the Orgère commune of St André if the weather allows it, go around about 2h15 round trip, return 2 hours.

Many easy walks from Valloire (the tourist office sells an interesting guide) that do not require any special equipment. The must have been the Market. It is a really beautiful resort. To discover in summer now!
