Sorbo-Ocagnano is located in the Haute-Corse department, a few steps from Bastia. It is a small commune of barely 800 souls, located in the pieve of Casinca, and is historically separated into two parts, with Sorbo on one side, and Ocagnano on the other, situated in a valley on the heights. Sorbo-Ocagnano is a rather quiet rural commune, located just south of the pond of Biguglia, on the eastern coast of the Isle of Beauty. Sorbo is pure authenticity: with its old 15th century church of San Petru, the hamlet of Sorbo is worth the detour to discover crazy panoramas on the valleys that lead to the sea. In Ocagnano, which takes its name from the stream that runs through it, you will enjoy a leisurely stroll through the ancient stone houses, as if frozen in time, and the many staircases that give the village its special character. Numerous fountains, churches and chapels will complete your visit to the village.

To make sure you don't miss out on anything of the village and the wonderful nature that surrounds it, Sorbo-Ocagnano has a number of hiking trails that are perfect for both novice walkers and trail aficionados. The path of the Casinca canals, or the round of the Romanesque chapels will allow you a beautiful immersion in the heart of the countryside of Haute-Corse!

If the heart of the village is rather far from the sea, it will take you only a few minutes to reach the most beautiful beaches of the coast. The main beach of Sorbo-Ocagnano is a real pearl, spread out over a little more than a kilometre of clear sand. Easily accessible, it will delight lovers of wide open spaces and tranquillity! Located in the heart of a preserved environment, it is not supervised but has the merit of being very little frequented, guaranteeing beautiful calm interludes facing the sea. You will be able to sunbathe, swim, paddle, and even play on the sand with your dog, the presence of animals being tolerated.
