We went to Le Racou: very nice view while walking along the trail for a few kilometers. The little houses at the foot of the beach, it's adorable. The valley of the turtles in Sodene is an outing not to be missed (we did it in the morning: less people). We had lunch at "La Terrasse" (salads at the top). Also very good salmon at the restaurant "Seven Kfé". The duck breast a little bit overcooked at the restaurant "La Maison". Visit of Argelès Bourg (Notre Dame del Prat church).

Good and welcoming restaurant: "La Casa del Joker" in the pedestrian streets of the village (11 allée Jules Aroles). For a little "from elsewhere", the Tunisian restaurant "Poivre et Sel": copious and family-friendly.

Many restaurants on the port but also Place Catalunya (including one where French is spoken.) A lot of power supplies including a Mercadona, a kind of very well stocked discount. Be careful with Spanish opening hours.

18 years have passed since our last stay in Argeles sur mer, it has been a cold shower. Reception of the traders more than cold, small seafood restaurants disappeared.... All shops sell exactly the same thing and you have to like junk food (pizza, kebab, burger...) to eat. The only good tips: the port, the fireworks display and the restaurant "L'Escale" (divine meal but a little small portion for the price). A big gap: the showers on the beach.
Françoise
17/08/2019
"Casa Léon" in Collioure: very good fish dishes. "L'Améthyste" (port of Argelès): very good food. "Les Poissonneries de la Côte Catalane" in Port Vendres at the end of the port: not to be missed. "Casa Cap d'Ona" (Argelès Village): commercial area, local beers and entertainment.
Michele

Very touristy city, many activities, we went out to sea to Baie de l'Ouille with its caves and feed the fish. The walk to the beach of Le Raccou is very nice. Evening concerts: great atmosphere, I really recommend this place.
Véronique

Very beautiful region with a lot to do around. The creperies "Pépé Luis" and "Bécassine" were our two favourites and also the "Royal d'Angkor", the restaurant "L'Écureuil", not to mention the "Fish Pédicure".
David

At Canet Plage: entertainment in the evening. Concert by Celine Dion performed by a singer named Carmen: excellent (she is in concert all over the coast). In Saint Cyprien: store of very good wines (harvested by their own vine), the market is very good and the beach is large (not on top of each other).
Kathia
06/07/2019
I recommend the catering fish shop "Le Flobien" on Tech Avenue which makes very good takeaway dishes at a reasonable price (Zarzuela, Paëlla, Bouillabaisse and many other specialities).
Sandrine

Drop in water" activity to do without hesitation: the children loved it. The mini golf a little noisy because of Luna Park, if not pretty.
Sandra

Many things to visit in the Cathar countries, including Le Pas de la Case towards Font-Romeu and (to be done at all costs) the abbey of Canigou.

Cool to do: the little train of Collioure which crosses the vineyards and makes us discover Fort Helme.
Isabelle
22/06/2019
We absolutely must go to Port Aventura. You also have to go to Salou in the evening, the fountains are lit and there is a lot of life at night. We enjoyed eating at the "Rock and Roll Grill", the cocktails are spectacular! You should also visit Tarragona and its cathedral and if you are a fan of markets like me: on Sundays, there is a huge market of 600 exhibitors in Bonavista that you shouldn't miss!
Audrey
22/06/2019
We took the boat trip to Collioure and the restaurant "La Canne à Sucre" which I recommend.
Benedicte
22/06/2019
The coastal path, from Raccou (parking on site) to Collioure: not to be missed! The view is magnificent, basketball and water bottle are essential, not recommended for small children because it is very steep.
Bruno
15/06/2019
Nearby: many beaches and restaurants at very reasonable prices, certainly much more reasonable than some places in France unfortunately... We had a great holiday, we will certainly come back to it with pleasure, unbeatable prices!
Antoine
15/06/2019
Very beautiful markets but not in the land. Drive to Cadaques, Roses by the coast and back to Figueres and La Jonquera (note: at the entrance to La Jonquera, there is a hypermarket with very low prices).
Philippe

20/04/2019
At this period, the animations and the "heated" swimming pool are open: good for families. A nice mini golf outing for an afternoon, otherwise take the car and drive to Sigean to the animal park. Another exit to Spain (access to Barcelona is quite easy via the motorway - not very congested).
