Near Barcelonnette in the Southern Alps, there is an authentic mountain village: Lauzet Ubaye. Once a village on the border between Piedmont and France, it has suffered many invasions. Today, it is a small lively village that has kept its typical houses and contains many historical monuments. The charm of the village lies above all in the lake, a natural wonder where the surrounding peaks are reflected. Its southern and western shores are classified.

Lake Lauzet
Lauzet-Ubaye's main asset, this pretty little mountain lake is an ideal place for aquatic pleasures: swimming in summer, pedal boat, kayaking, fishing or simply sunbathing along the banks.
White water sports
For the more sporty among you, the Ubaye River offers you the practice of canyoning, rafting, white water swimming and hot dogs (inflatable canoes and kayaks). Sensations guaranteed near the spectacular waterfalls of Costeplane.
The typical village
Dive into the heart of the life of this typical mountain village. You will discover narrow streets overhung by footbridges linking the houses. Cut stone houses closed by wooden doors that can date back to Roman times, fountain, washhouse, church and Roman bridge finish setting the scene.
