45 kilometres from Digne-les-Bains and 90 kilometres from Carpentras, Saint-Étienne les Orgues is located in the Alpes de Hautes-Provence department. At the foot of the Lure mountains, this village surrounded by forests, fields of fragrant aromatic plants and scrubland is imbued with a gentle atmosphere that is difficult to get rid of. Characterized by a vibrant light all year round, this typical village of the region offers its visitors many panoramas to contemplate. The magnificent decorated doors of the rue des Apothicaires, the rue Saint Clair and the rue du "Mei de Ville" in particular, testify to the development of the commune and its development, due to the trade in medicinal and aromatic plants. Many fountains are also found in Saint-Étienne les Orgues, most of them decorated with low coping stones, which were once used to water sheep during the transit of herds during the year.

During your country travels, south of the village of Saint-Étienne les Orgues, you can also cross the path of two beautiful castles that are also worth a visit: the 19th century Château Tondu and the Château du Truyas.

Culminating at an altitude of 1826 metres, in the heart of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, the Lure mountain offers its visitors a particularly relaxing setting for stays with family or friends. Loved by astronomy enthusiasts, it is a perfect place to observe the sky and the stars. On sunny days, this mountain is the perfect place for excursions, trails and Nordic hikes under an azure sky, to discover some of the most beautiful panoramas that the municipality offers on the Provençal hills, the Southern Alps and the peaks of the Parc National des Écrins. You can also opt for cycling or horseback riding excursions, for fun family outings in particular. During the winter, the Lure ski resort offers skiers and snowboarders beautiful slopes with exceptional panoramas, to practice according to your taste skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and sledging between 1600 and 1850 metres above sea level.
